RetroArch libnx for Switch gets overclocking function added to nightly build

@m4xw and the Libretro team have merged their overclocking and downclocking build of RetroArch libnx for the Nintendo Switch. Currently, the feature is available in the latest nightly build, offering improved emulation for PS1 and N64 games on the Nintendo Switch.

This PR implements overclocking functionality for RetroArch libnx.
There are 3 "Overclocking" and 3 Underclocking options.
This has been unified with lakka-switch's code (thanks again @natinusala).

On exit RA will restore the default system clock.
On docking RA will restore chosen clock (same with undock)
On focus loss RA will restore the default system clocks.
On focus gain RA will restore the chosen clock.

Its rated at 2 GHz
Also the Switch is 50% underclocked by stock.
Less talking, more trying.
Ofcourse there are other components, but from a CPU only overclock the impact is minimal.

Except battery life, yes? I'm pretty sure it was underclocked for a reason.

No offense, but a dynarec should be implemented before OC is a thing.
 
I'm just giving my input. Will test for sure... but Overclocking sounds so bad xDDDDD for some reason is underclocked by default.
Its fearmongering based on halfknowledge, I can't really say that different.

Impact on battery life is minimal (this is not a GPU OC) and hey if you want that dynarec, there is a 2k bounty open.
Also the overclock ability is completely unrelated to the dynarec per se
 
And again so many negative comments about this but i tested it out and i would like to say thank you, it ran beautifully!!!
instead of people getting their panties in a bunch, try it out and then comment instead of getting the community's hopes down!

But does the thermal solution that was designed by Nintendo can safely accommodate 2ghz?

Does the power supply (battery and USB power input), delivery, and management designed by Nintendo can safely accommodate 2ghz?


Retroarch is made by awesome people so I'm sure they will do some tests before the stable release.

But to simply assume the switch can handle higher clock because the SoC was designed for higher clock?

And that's your opinion. And since it is entirely optional, you're more than welcome to never use it. But your question was answered. Sorry you didn't want to put thought into it.

The whole reason the switch was under clocked is because of battery life, nothing to do with heat, nothing to do with wear and tear. Look at the nvidia shield tv, it's clocked higher because it has a dedicated power supply, if it were a portable device it would be clocked lower to lower battery consumption just like the switch is.

It would make a terrible heater
Tested the nightly and everything seems great actually, shouldn't a judged so quick good work
Switch doesn't seem any hotter either
