Retroarch isn't showing up on Google Play for me. Are other people getting this too?

Hey Arm73!

I used to praise my traditional non-HD CRTV some time ago...
But after getting a Videocomponent-to-VGA converter, and
a SLG-3000 (scanlines generator) there is nothing better
in the world (for me, of course) than to play all my emulators
on a 42" with a perfect old-skool feeling.

If you like scanlines, I really really advise you to try that! =)

Huh ? Those scanlines are much too dark and look fake, they are very different and look better on a real CRT TV. Isn't it possible to configure them like with emulators ? This really look weird this way and ends up being uglier than HD shaders/filters in my opinion...

they were apparently pulled from the store because someone filled a DMCA request against them, although nobody told them who exactly filled it and on what purpose.

considering there was no copyright infrigement in retroarch and that, in the mean time, they are still loads of (commercial) emulators on google play, you might be wondering if this is not another shaddy business/marketing "strategy" from some concurrent app's owner. Google is not known to be very cooperative with that kind of issues, even when the legal claims are fake ones (in short, they do not care if this is justified or not)

240p video is not going to happen, the developers did not like people asking them for the support, so just a heads up. The only way you really get that is on a CRT, but the Wii doesn't truly support it. RetroArch has a forwarder and the Snes and NES emulators actually run a lot better than the standalone emulators.

Sorry to ask, where is the fowarder for the 0.9.9 version?

Hi,
I'm well aware of the SLG-3000, in fact I've been debating for quite some time whether should I get one or not.......in the end, I settled with an authentic CRT TV and I couldn't be happier.
Your screenshots look great, if I only could get my hand on such a device for testing........
But anyway, thanks for your tip :)
Cheers

This is wrong.
The wii can perfectly output 240p.
Emulators as snesgx , genesis plus, fceugx , mednafen output in 240p ( original video, double strike )
Enjoy your glorious scanlines on your crt with an rgb cable!

RA on the other hand can output at it's original resolution with the cost of some overscan wich is not present at the previous mentioned emus.

The dedicated emus actually have official forwarders (snesgx, fceugx, vba gx ) channel installers.

I don't care about native resolution and not a big fan of Snes9x GX since many games have issues with frameskipping (Yoshi's Island, Kirby's Dream Land 3, etc) but to each their own. That and they have a weird libogc issue with the audio whenever you open and close the menu.

I also prefer RA anyday but, these are just facts.

I know, I wish Tantric still maintained them though. It is the first Snes emulator...no wait, it was when they were based off of Snes9x 1.43, then 1.51 and I remember the jump to 1.52 and fell in love with the accurate audio emulation :D

All cps 1 and cps2 games work.
All negeo games below 25 mb work except the irritating maze.
Sorry to ask you again, but I just want to make sure.
In the RA folder I have cores for FB Alpha, and FBA CPS1, 2 and Neo Geo.
Does the FBA core play non cps/neo geo games at all ?
Having 4 FBA cores is a little confusing !
So , is it only CPS 1-2 / Neo geo games ?
Thanks again.....

Yes, some other boards are playable also.
Mainly Konami, toaplan, psykio, tengen are playable
Also galxian board games as pacman (puckman) are playable.

Best way to get your roms togeher is by sincing your roms with fba on pc.
This way you can catagorize yiur games.
All in all about 600+ games are playable with the fba cores together on wii.

If you need confermation about a game pm me.
Sorry for the typos, horrible android device....

That is great..more goodness !
I just finished categorizing CPS1, CPS2 and NG roms in separate folders, so that when I load a core I won't be accidentally try to load an unsupported rom.
Now if I select the FBA core I should be able to load the rest of the games, interesting.
Now I know this is probably out of the scope of this conversation, but there's got to be somewhere a complete ( -ish ) list of all the other supported games, or at least a complete list of supported drivers.
Like I said, having 2600+ roms in one folder, and all mixed up, doesn't make things easy, especially because most of the file names are radically different then the real name !
It seems I'll have a lot to do in the next few days......

By the way, I've been playing around with some games, like Giga Wing and Mars Matrix......oh man, with the right settings ( 512x236 or something like that ) on my 27"CRT TV, they look better then ever, even better then the Dreamcast versions I used to play some ten years ago, in terms of authentic scanlines, silk smooth scrolling and correct aspect ratio, really, it's a blast rediscovering those gems on the humble Wii ;)

There is a compatibility list in this very thread. Just search for compatibility list it should pop up.
Ah...the search option, I should have thought about that...I manually went through the first 7 - 8 pages and then I gave up, this tread has over 3000 posts !!
Thanks for the tip.

EDIT:
Found it http://denki-den.com/tmp/retroarch-wii/fba_compat_list.xls

Unfortunately I can't open any *xls files on this PC, I'll try later on.
Thanks again.
