Hacking Retail NDS game with G6LITE instead of PASSCARD3?

I have NDS Lite.
My PASSCARD3 is defective.
Looking for fast/cheap/workable solution:

Nintendo Retail Game in place of PASSCARD3, does this work without any problems?

Question 1: Instead of using a PASSCARD3, can I use a Nintendo Retail Game?
Question 2: Will Nintendo Retail Game act like a PASSCARD3 and allow me to play NDS roms on G6LITE?
Question 3: Will Nintendo Retail Game negatively effect G6Lite in anyway?
Question 4: For NDS options, is it best to set game cartiage load to AUTOMATIC, or MANUAL?

3. No, you can play retail when g6 is plugged in, however you can not use it. Except perhaps GBA games, which I believe do not require passcard (please correct me if I'm wrong)


Your best/cheapset solution would be FlashMe, preferably before your passcard broke

but maybe you have a friend with some pass* device that you can borrow for the flashing.

i think the way the g6 lite is set up you hvae to go into the gba menu in the g6 menu, because of the folder setup you cant use the g6lite via ds gba menu.
