Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D

Those who get the new game will be able to save their progress, but there's no way to go back and delete it in order to start from scratch and those who get a used copy of the game will also rely on the gameplay of other players for their progress.

Do you expect Gamestop to buy a game back for 100% and sell it the same amount?

Do you expect them to buy a used game from a person for say 30 dollars and them not sell it for 35? Its called profit.

If they actually bought them for £30, I'd laugh. But they don't. You're lucky if they give you a fifth of that unless you intend to trade the game in for another (at which time they just make even more money off of you). You make it sound like they don't make profit from the sales of game consoles, accessories and new game sales - which is nonsense, since over here they make a little less than £50 of profit from every 3DS they sell. That's likely more than they've ever made in terms of profit per console sold, but it's no secret that every console maker gives retailers at least 10% of the console's price as profit.

QUOTETheir job isn't to donate money to game companies, its to make money.

I don't get your argument - you say that Gamestop's job is to make money, but it isn't Capcom's? Gamestop can screw us over to make money, but Capcom can't screw over Gamestop to make money?

Wintrail, you do realize that if it weren't for companies like GameStop, the gaming industry would be way too dry, right? Every new game they have, they prepurchased, even when some games never leave the shelves, they still shell out the money to prepurchase the games as they come out. This feeds money into the developing companies even when their games don't make a sell. If it weren't for used games, they wouldn't be able to support the business, as the profit turned from new games are so little. ALSO, most people I know are introduced into awesome series by buying a used previous title, then go on to pre-order most of the new stuff. They do NOT rip you off on a game. If a game's going to sell, they're going to give you a good price for it. Plus bonus trade-in credit, sometimes A LOT depending on current offers, reward points that you can trade for credit or gift cards or merc. Stores like GameStop actually increase sales of new games, because most of the people rely on trading in their old games to purchase new ones. Not everyone's loaded and can just up and buy whatever they want. Don't judge a company for doing their job without looking at the big picture, it's not cool.

Okay, Capcom is evil and Gamestop is the very epitome of fair business.

To try to get this thread on some semblance of on-topicness, I got the game today for £25. I was a bit miffed I only got a tenner for trading in Super Street Fighter 4 3D, but meh - I'm going to be playing The Mercs a lot more than the twenty hours I clocked in SSFIV3D and getting The Mercs for £25 really makes it so the lack of content isn't as much of a problem.

But really, why were people complaining? Sure, it could've had more characters and more missions... But this is the best damn looking game on the 3DS, being able to move and reload is awesome, the skills are pretty clever, I like the variety of weapon loadouts and it really does feel like you're always unlocking new stuff and levelling up old stuff. While I'm no high score chaser, even I couldn't resist replaying a few levels to bump up my rating from A or B to SS or S. I loved when the Garrador guy randomly showed up in the middle of a bunch of those Ganado Zealots. I had to keep running away 'cause the guy just wouldn't die.

I'm playing as Claire with HUNK's weapon set until I can unlock Wesker's. All in all, this is a really fun game and I've barely unlocked a thing let alone played Co-Op with anyone. Sure, it might only take a day to unlock everything and beat every mission... But the main priority is how much fun you had, not how long it took you to beat the game. In fact, many console games are barely longer. At least this game has plenty of replay value and really is very good for pick up an' play.

I'm looking forward to sequels... They could really do something with this.

Don't you guys remember the 3DS savegame backup tool?

That can be used to wipe save data. Just backup your current save file, fill it with FFs in a hex editor, then restore that save file back to the cartridge. Now it will be back to factory default....

Wow, after copy protection that messes up yo computer and limited number of install for PC games they come out with this crap for handheld.....

Why do they hate legit buyer so much? Are they trying to push everyone into piracy so they dont have to deal with any of that crap. In lots of cases on PC pirated games work better than a real copy and soon itl be the same on the 3DS if thye keep that save file limitation...
