the actual reason was shit sales, a commercial failure in other words rather then your delusional nintendrone fantasy reason
in the end even though it had great reviews people just wernt interested in the game, the top down perspective is probably what sent this game to its doom
It really was a great game on the DS. I had so much fun playing it. Too bad it didn't sell. Did it sell well on the PSP?

I don't see why it isn't fair. Consider it a "timed exclusive", if you want. Ultimately, it isn't Nintendo's call, it's Capcom's....and we all should be well aware by now how often Capcom likes to release the same game multiple times.

At least this time it'll be a little different, not just a few new costumes and some move tweaks like the multitude of Street Fighter 4 versions..

Which, nobody mentioned they did the same in reverse on the 3DS, releasing first on consoles, then on the 3DS. (If they did mention it, it probably was skipped over due to me not giving a shit).

So it's coming to a console. Don't buy that version if you're that pissed about it. Since I haven't gotten around to playing it yet, I'll be happy to pick up whatever version is cheapest when I have the disposable funds to do so.

I personally like the feel of this RE game...it's a real survival horror versus an action game with a monster that's supposed to be scary.

I would rather more people play it and experience the style instead of sticking with a standard thing. And plus, it's a chance for Capcom to try out the genre again, and see if they would like to reboot their survival horror franchises.

It's Capcom's game, they can do what the fuck they like with it. There was no "hey if we made this for 3DS, would you buy a 3DS for it? Ok we'll only have it for 3DS"...there was none of that. There was no "this is only for 3DS".

There is no betrayal here, you paid money for a game and you got your moneys worth. Capcom aren't going into your home taking your copy away to give to 360/PS3 owners. Unless there weren't any other good games on the 3DS then I would understand, but there are many good games there.

Too many self entitled dicks on this forum. :P If you want to moan at someone, moan at those who announced 3DS games only to cancel them. I'm not a fan of modern Capcom and what they do lately but at least they bothered to release a high quality title for a system that wasn't exactly proven to sell these kind of games.

I really don't give a shit about that game or this one so eat me..
Doesn't give a shit about a game.

good job ignoring everything else I said, please take you so called "facts" and leave, go to the ign boards and post them there instead

It really was a great game on the DS. I had so much fun playing it. Too bad it didn't sell. Did it sell well on the PSP?

actually worse, ds version managed to sell about 250k more copies then the psp version, and the iOS version was even worse of a disaster as well in sales

rockstar thought since both liberty city stories and vice city stories did very well on the psp then moving chinatown wars to the psp from the ds would meet the same success but it didnt
the general public just didnt like it, maybe re-making it full 3d would change people's mind but that might effect the overall quality of the game

as for revelations, it has yet to be seen if its just a cheap 1:1 port for a cheap money grab or an upgraded port with improved graphics, new content ect...

Look at it this way - by porting the game, the more people get to play the game, which means the game makes more money. The more money it makes, the higher the chance that we all get another game like it. This is good, yes?

So as you may have heard Resident evil revelations may be ported to consoles. I personally think this is a stab in the back to customers since they are basically making a better version of the game in every way and screwing over handheld users who bought the game. I am always against a handheld game being ported over. I don't mind there being spinoffs of a series but the same game being ported to a better system so soon is pretty disgusting on capcoms part.

What do you guys think?

you have to expect things like this from capcom, just look back at resident evil 4, originally that was supposed to be a gamecube exclusive but it was eventually ported to all sorts of platforms, it's all about making money.

in a way i could understand the op's feelings. having an exclusive game to your very handheld kinda feels special. then have those feelings betrayed because they want to have affairs with other consoles. but at the same time, im happy it will be more accessaable for ppl to enjoy this fine game. it depends on what has changed of if i like it enough to buy it again.

Douchebag logic!

If you ask me, I'd say that a guy who calls other people douchebags when they have done nothing to them directly is the real douchebag.

I don't own Resident Evil: Revelations, I don't own Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown, I have no intention to purchase either of those games and have not ever had any. I'm fairly sure that's the definition of "I really don't care".

When I posted in this thread (which was moreso on the topic of distributing an "exclusive" title to other platforms rather than any specific game), I was just recalling tidbits of information from memory that was from years ago and I didn't expect to be harassed for it, Especially from a Former Staff Member.

Leave me alone, please.

Has it even been confirmed that this port will have extra content or features?

it hasn't even been confirmed that this port exists. Xbox 360 achievements have appeared for it in some official source, leading to the very likely possibility that there will be a console port. we know nothing about what will actually be included.

I don't see how this could be a problem for gamers - if anything, it could be considered a slight inconvenience for Nintendo since they're losing a good exclusive.

Back to the point though, from a gamer perspective all this means is that more people will have a chance to enjoy the game, which is great. Anyone who rages about this has got to be kidding - why shouldn't other gamers get Revelations only because they don't have a 3DS? That's just next level brand loyalty - you guys can still enjoy it and you got it earlier anyways. Hogging games like that is just being a douche.

The only games that are ever truly exclusive are the ones that have a lot of 1st party involvement. Consider any other 3rd party game's exclusivity to always be "at risk", and then we might never see another whiny thread like this. I actually might buy this game if it comes to consoles, maybe for the Wii U, anyway; I didn't particularly like playing it on the 3DS.

Leave me alone, please.
In England, we call this "throwing the teddy out of the pram". ;)

it's fair... capcom can do whatever they want with their IP/ASSESTS etc... I would rather have a new game though... still, 3DS got it first and it's a great game! I enjoyed the heck out of it!

Capcom just shot themselves in the foot betraying Nintendo like that.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Resident Evil games for either system, nor will they purchase any of Capcom's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Capcom has alienated an entire market with this move.

Capcom, publicly apologize and cancel Revelations for the PS3 and 360 or you can kiss your business goodbye.
It's amazing how that didn't seem like sarchasm at all

Wasnt revelations built from the tossed resident evil PSP game?
There was some talk on a forum from someone who appeared to be either drunk, an idiot, or making shit up. Others took it as gospel.

There was going to be a Resident Evil game on the PSP. Nothing was ever explicitly mentioned more than that, I believe. I may be wrong, and Google is just showing me forum posts and porn, as usual.
