Why?
I can run Skyrim on a single core shitty PC, why not on a 3DS(quad core)?

If we had the full source code of Skyrim, it might be possible given a lot of time and effort trying to make up for the different CPU architectures. However, we don't have the full source code, so everything else is irrelevant.

@nahimgood

You are joking, right?

It would require so much work that there are likely no homebrew developers interested in working on it. Models would have to be redone from scratch (not to mention their animations) and made low-poly enough for the 3DS to handle. This is just for the assets. Then the devs would have to attempt to recreate the code of a closed source game. Even after all of this it will still likely be too much for the 3DS to handle.

The closest you will ever get to this is using the 3DS remote desktop app or the 3DS controller app.

The number of processor cores do not matter as much as you think that they do either, because even the cheapest PC processors are more powerful than the ones in a O3DS and N3DS combined.

can't we just port the PC version to 3DS(ARM).
Some devs ported Quake and Doom...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Have you ever looked at how powerful the 3ds is? The new 3ds runs at 804 mhz. That's about as much as a Pentium 3. Not to mention that Skyrim wasn't programmed for ARM.
It's quadcore!!

at this point i can't help but feel like this guy is either an extreme troll, or seriously does not know how these things work...
im not a troll i just said some pc games have been ported to the 3ds so why can't skyrim?

The performance of CPU's can't be measured by their frequency alone. Their architecture, number of cores, presence of hyperthreading, and other factors also matter.

The other games were either simple and open source, or complex and open source. Even if we did have the source, the 3ds would probably overheat within a few seconds.

what about low settings?
it woudnt be so demanding
