Anyway that you could export and import saves with a 3ds homebrew? Sorry if its already been asked
Ehhh if you mean DS, DEE-ESS, then aren't those stored in cartridges?
If you meant 3DS please go look at like the first page of this forum.
Yeah, regular DS
Use a flashcart.
And this would help OP import/export saves from their legitimate DS cartridges, how exactly?
OP wants to dump DS cartridge saves with a 3ds. (pretty sure)
It's not possible with a flashcart because those need to be switched with the retail cartridge. (3ds hardware limit)
All save homebrew for the 3ds currently only works with 3ds games.
I don't think there are any limiting factors, other than it hasn't been made yet?
For now OP, R4i Save Dongle.
Wait, can't you use one of those utilities on a DS flashcart where you take out the flashcart and insert the game?
Not on a 3ds console.
Seeing that Poké Transpoter, an eShop title, can read and write to DS game cards (specifically B/W/B2/W2), can't homebrew do the same? There's probably something we missed though.
It's probably a lot more complex than what our current homebrew libraries can do.
But it's possible, unless it's not due to special permissions or something.
Oh well too bad, OP will have to use a DS or a dongle.
This homebrew is something I'd like to see, and really would like to make myself. It's my current motivation for learning C++.
Although I recently bought an R4i Save Dongle, for obvious reasons.
Just found this page https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-dump-your-own-3ds-ds-games-saves.274290/
This guide was posted before the 3ds was released. The then edited in 3ds into the guide is misleading.
Wood dumper doesn't work on 3ds because it requires a flashcart to run the wooddumper.nds homebrew.
The DSaveManager seems to be able to dump 3ds saves after modifying the cartridge to fit in an NDS. Not dump saves using a 3ds console.
That thread is only relevant for DS console owners. You can't cart swap DS games on a 3DS. So even the Wifi based save dumpers can't be used. The DS save game manager has to be run in 3DS mode. That or someone will have to find a way of getting custom DSi titles working in TWL mode. Running the manager in 3DS mode is the more likely route.
Nevermind, I'll fucking do it.
Asshole American websites that sell the R4i Save Dongle don't want to take my money.
My information on the Action Replay is too shaky, with 2 manufactured versions and other bs.
Not paying $30 for the NDS Adapter Plus, lol
So I'll be dedicating a big portion of my time (like a lot of hours) on making a DS save manager homebrew for the 3ds. If even possible at this point.
I have no other options.
If you can do that I would be in your debt! Would it be possible to edit the save in PKHEX if its extractable?
I hate people saying "get a flashcard" and don't mind about ARM9 advantages, that's why sometimes the scene gets stuck.
Where is this at present? (since it's currently not in a working state) Is it still being developed?
