Replacing HDDs for RGH XBOX 360s

I want to buy a XBOX 360 hard drive of bigger storage and I have an RGH XBOX 360. If I switch, do I lose the RGH mod, or will it be all right?

I am confident that i can backup the software, but the space is small and I would like to upgrade.

no, at most you will need to reinstall everything on the new hard drive but RGH itself is a hardware mod, not a software one.

Yeah, every important thing (xell/freeboot) is installed in the main nand (the SPI chip you flashed with a programmer first if you don't have an eMMC model and then again in xell with the updflash.bin), everything else is regular-ish homebrew that you can reinstall as always

Just remember to use the backwards compatibility partition installer before you forget!

I went through this last month, I just had to reinstall (and configure) Dashlaunch and Aurora. As others said, RGH won't go away like that.
