Hello,

Does anybody know if u can install the new homebrew channel beta7 via elf and then uninstall it by using the homebrew channel .wad (found in download section on this website) with the latest wad uninstaller?

The reason I ask is I want to be able to remove the ticket installed with the channel, which I can't do when I delete it via the system menu. I have read around on this and can't find a coherent answer.

Also, i'm using a PAL system so I was wondering if the homebrew channel is region free, (or are there specific versions of the homebrew channel for different regions and if so what region is the one in the download section)?

Thanks in advance!

yeah, i don't see why you wont be able to.

The homebrew channel is region free

Yeah, i'm sorry, i'm thinking that the HBChan is a .elf.
I'm sorry for the wrong word, but i said in the presentation that i'm not talking a very good english, i take some word by the Italian, sorry.

Just don't install it via the .wad, People are saying it would not work when you update it via the internet function. i don't believe them but still better be safe than sorry

Yeah, had read that too, don't beleive it either but better safe than sorry! Definatly gonna install via elf then keep a backup of the .wad incase I wanna remove the ticket in future.

On a side note, didn't the creater of the wad un/installer piss off some of the people who created the hbc beta7? Might account for lack of an official wad for the hbc and this stuff about not installing via .wad? Just a thought. :-)

Thanks for the help and advise. Greatly appreciated.

Why are we not able to remove the homebrew channel? because of the lack of a .wad version?
Nobody made a wad of that yet? and wont a wad uninstall it like any other application?

You can remove the homebrew channel. 1: U can delete it from the system menu (leaves the ticket behind) 2: U can use .wad on the download section of this website (with the wad uninstaller) to remove the channel & ticket too (as i've just been told above by Prime)

Yeah, thats what Prime told me, above.

Uh.. I cant find the wad in the download section..
can u please point me to it?

Edit: You are talking about the new homebrew channel right? cause I can only find the .wad for the old version

@madridi4ever: The .wad for the new homebrew channel should be here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=2496

If u check out the comments it says: "The WAD for the new homebrew channel. NOTE: GBAtemp fucked up on the date, this IS the new homebrew channel i uploaded it around the 26th-27th of may."

I haven't confirmed this myself though. . . . Hope this helps.

@Prime: Just noticed the .wad was submitted by you. Thanks a lot man!

You don't need the wad -- you only need the Title ID of the channel.

I've posted this several times and a quick search will bring up the method of doing it.

Oh thanks,
I saw that, but I thought it was 6th april, which wasnt right, so I assumed it was the old one.

Thanks Veng3r, and thanks prime for the submission

Thanks for the info teq. I had a look at your posts but I don't see the point in making a new wad with the same id as the channel when there is already one in the download section of this site. Thanks anyway!

Maybe not for channels that are widely available for download, but say you inject a WAD and lose the original...

Furthermore, are we sure they share the same ID? Has anyone actually checked?

Good points. . . . I haven't checked this myself but Prime submitted the .wad to this site and he seems to think it does (see the start of this topic). Wonder if anyone has tested this. .

How do you check to see if u still have tickets and your uninstall was ok in this reguard? Also is it bad to have this data in there when future updates happen or will it be ignored?
