You would be surprised, I once ordered one & it smelt like cigars up close.

You could try returning it or replacing everything on the outside of the 3DS, febreze might also work, you could also try cleaning the outside really good with some cloth & water to try and get the smell out.

i don't think returning would do the trick because I've already installed luma+a9lh

I seriously do have actual questions. Like, how did the smell get there? Why did you buy it if smelled like that? So many questions!
Because some ****** are ashy asf 24/7

oh you naive child.

How do we know its lotion and not jizz?

i mean,im not the only one who thought of the idea ''yknow you COULD watch porn on the browser its so discreet no one will find out bc its a DS''

Do what i do when something smells bad!

1)spray it with perfume.

2)leave it laying around for a few days.

Now there's only a very faint, enjoyable smell of perfume in your ds!

idek racism is a whole different topic. It's manly the thumb stick and dpad that have a shit smell, I used a wash cloth with warm water but all that did was spread the smell onto the was cloth smh

Use the perfume man,the only down side is that for a few hours your ds will smell like both perfume AND jizz, and then like too much perufume.

Wait a few days, there's only a subtle scent.

A week and the ds has lost all smell.

I picked up a few electronics from Goodwill when I was at university and my word, the SNES smelled like a cigar. I stuck it in a sealed box with an opened jar of vinegar for a week and that cleared the smell...

I'd remove the shell and see what's on the inside, then clean it with some rubbing alcohol.. Might help a ton.
Also, gently use a soft cloth with that rubbing alcohol

The only way to get rid of the odor entirely is to fully disassemble the console and wash the housing with soap and water, just like dirty dishes. 3DSes can be filthy. Sometimes I even find dead bugs inside.

However, if you don't want to open the system, you can still do a pretty good job reducing the smelliness by cleaning around the crevices and seams using a clean toothbrush dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Removing the battery cover and cleaning in there is also very helpful, even if you don't disassemble the rest of the console.

This might sound a bit strange, but another thing that helps quite a bit with odors is pointing a hairdryer at the item for a little while from various angles. I'm not really sure why it works, but I've been surprised at how much it helps even with getting rid of the smell of tobacco smoke from used electronics.
