Burned it with default prog on a old macbook and even used an maxell dvd, because all out of verbatim.
Wii pal - Argon 1.8

We played for like 3/4 hours without an error.

So is it the source that is corrupt ? Because error 001 code fixing and truncha would probaly not work in the near future.

Hi,
Since mario.kart works with IOS33,
I think if we can use "IOS version patcher" and change to IOS30
Perhaps it could play @ wiikey1.2b/1.9b ???

not sure , just a idea....

I still have problems...
If your modchip is Wiikey 1.9g, I doubt the ppf patch will solve the probleme.
Because Wiikey 1.9 accept game with the drivecheck (without 001 error)

Hey JinVa, Got the full iso and its working perfectly! Disc updated to 3.1E by the way and not to 3.2E. Can you also make a PPF patch for Mario Galaxy? Its so easy and works very well.

Can someone verify if this is all I need to do?

1. get EU release of Mario Kart
2. apply JinVa's PPF patch
3. Burn
4. Play!

So no need to brickblock, no need to Region Frii patch?

I have an NTSC U console with Firmware 3.2U

You state ur wii is NTSC U so you will need to remove the update and apply region free, then patch with the ppf. I applied the ppf file last, but i dont think it matters what order you do it.

I have a 3.2U NTSC-U console with YAOSM 2.0. I PPF patched then brickblocked and it works 100% without any prompt for an update, so I don't think the order is of any significance. Thanks JinVa for the patch! I'm curious though, what does a PPF patch do to an ISO (and BrickBlocker, for that matter) that changes something without require the changes to be Trucha Signed?

I didn't try this but it should work.

1. Open ISO with an hex editor (WinHex).
2. Go to the offset 0x40003 and change the byte from "03" to "02".
3. Save and now you should be able to open the ISO with Trucha.
4. To restore the third partition. just revert step 2.

I can't find offset 0x40003. How do you do that ?

In UltraEdit, just hit Ctrl+G and then type 0x40003 in the box. It will take you right to the line.
This one works!! i could use WiiFrii 2.3 to patch the ISO by using this method!

However, i've another problem.
I'm using NTSC-J concole and WiiKey 1.9g.
Mario Kart always display Japanese even I force the ISO to NTSC-U and English language in WiiFrii 2.3.
(i've tried both PAL and JAP iso)

i know there's not many ppl have JAP console. but can someone gives me ideas which i could play english version of MK on JAP console?

I patched the game and hoping it will work, but reading it it will

Anyway, i got a question about updating. As i have updated the Wii Online last week, it still says with this game that the software needs to be updated (i am on 3.2E).

Is it OK to do the update on the Kart disc too? As i see some people who do not get the update when on 3.2E.
