I patched the game and hoping it will work, but reading it it will

Anyway, i got a question about updating. As i have updated the Wii Online last week, it still says with this game that the software needs to be updated (i am on 3.2E).

Is it OK to do the update on the Kart disc too? As i see some people who do not get the update when on 3.2E.

I used the ppf-o-matic method to patch and was prompted to update, but already on 3.2E. MK Wii said update successful and no problems since. So as long as you are on version 3.2 then all should be fine.

OK, great news. I will try it again tonight.
But i was just anxious as i am on 3.2 but it still keeps asking for it and other people did not have it.

Patched with the ppf
wiibrickblocker
regionfrii
Burnt on verbatim dvd-r with imgburn

game locks up on load

I am using a modded Jap Wii with 3.2j

When using WiiFrii did you use smart patch or brute patch?

Since you have to use a patch to install the MKchannel.. would that possibly lead to bricking in the future?

Would an unscrubbed version have any problems on a PAL machine?

Sorry but I have not the iso of Mario Galaxy =S

please try and get hold of PAL SMG to do a PPF, as ALL other solutions i've tried (every single one) doesnt work

pretty please?

thanks.

-----------------

if not then, let mw and others know, can you use WinHex to edit an ISO and just burn it? or do you need the now-nontendo-fixed (?) truchasign (?) to re-work the changed ISO?
sorry if i am confused...

I used wiibrickblocker

I used regionfrii

I used Wiu1.1

I burned 4 different discs and still get the error, why won't Mario Kart work on my Wiikey?

I used Wii Update Remover, Wii Region Frii (NTSC-U), Applied JinVas .ppf #2, and burned with IMGBurn @ 2.4x on TY03 media. Works fine (except Mario Kart Channel - installs but doesn't work).

My Wiikey is at 1.9s firmware and have run 1.4 config. The original iso I used was the Moment PAL (non scrubbed) full iso.

Yeah I did try what you said and I still get the error.. it may be a bad ISO that I have.

I guess I'll wait for the USA version in a couple weeks !!

I've scanned through the whole thread. I don't know whether i've missed it or not but is it seems that nobody has come up with the way to remove 001 from scrubbed mario kart version. Am I right? I'm looking forward to see the patch being released.

I followed waninkoko's method to hex-edit the ISO.
And then followed the standard procedure to remove error 001 by using
Trucha Signer, and Generic Wii Patcher.

However, this method does not work at all!

It seems that people, who claimed this method works, are actually using wiikey 1.9g/1.9s.

Then, I downloaded and applied JinVa's patch to the original ISO.
Use Wii Update Manager to replace 3.1E_V2 update to 3.1J_V2.
By using this method, Mario Kart really works!

Even though my mod-chip is a crippled wi-ic.

Not 100% sure, but it seems that the video output is PAL/576i.
And some people ever tried to change the video mode to NTSC but fails.

So, dear JinVa, would you please kindly open your modification procedure.
Thus we can create another patch for guys living in NTSC region!!!

Wii Pal WiiD modchip
Updated 3.1e to 3.2e + Mario Kart Disc update

JinVa patch #2 on:
Mario Kart full iso game works + channel also works
Mario Kart scrubbed iso game works + channel does not work

fakey.

by the way I heard there's a fix for the scrubbes iso to play the mario kart channel: m-mkwiifix.dif

Sorry if this has been asked already, but for any user, if you go online and install the Mario Kart channel - is there any way Nintendo can detect you with the hacked game and ban you? i mean is there any risk at all? i am buying this game as worth my cash come apr 29th but for now id like to get sme on line action in. only if it is safe...

I was wondering about that aswell. Can't be too sure

I can assure you that waninkoko's method does work as advertised... and no, I do not have a wiikey. I have an original and un-updated cyclowiz chip that gives the error 001. I have a NTSC-U console and after fixing my main.dol file in Trucha/Generic Wii Patcher, I simply applied brickblocker and regionfrii. My guess is you need to apply regionfrii in order for the game to run properly on NTSC systems with older modchips.
