Could you please elaborate this point? I don't think that it's possible to just replace/overwrite an app file as the system software will refuse to launch the game if the title id does not match the one in the corresponding tmd... Am I missing something here?

If you did get your CID from /sys/block/mmcblk0/device/cid double check the endianess... You should get something like XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX00011500, you may need to reverse the order of the bytes (and/or to cut the first byte and append a 00).
