Could you take a screenshot of your settings of your Smash Selector and your Luma config?

h2testw tests bad SD
not exactly screenies but I'm sure they'll do

Do you have all necessary files for your SD? The code binaries inside the luma code_sections? Have you tried with and without SaltySD enabled?

There's only really 4 combinations with SaltySD on/off and game type to Cartridge/CIA, so I imagine testing that would be a flash.

Everything is where it should be in the sd...the testing program came up with no issues, however I will try with disabling saltysd

Update:Setting SaltySD off with game type to CIA booted sm4sh, without mods of course, however, loading cart didn't work either way, but it didn't give me the reboot error, just kinda closed. I tried again with type set to CIA and SaltySD enabled...got the reboot error once more. Just remembered that I have a SaltySD 1.1.6 update...do I need the vanilla update for this to work?

Update: Changed out the code.bin files and still no luck...I'm gonna be mad upset if I cant get this to work

I tried installing the vanilla update, appear to have no luck there either

Does it matter that I'm on 11.2 or no? That could be the problem.

Update:Forgot to ALSO mention I'm on o3ds, which I don't believe is the case here...but no matter what, it boots fine when CIA is selected and SaltySD is disabled. I've done literally everything I can think of.

fr. people get too spoiled when they have 0 reason to use nightlies
at first I didn't realize I was an hourly/nightly build. But as I said above, I went back to a stable 6.6

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Stop using luma nightlies if you can't troubleshoot. Download the stable build. If you cart came with an update applied to it, there will be issues, just use a cia. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kk1eg1zl9pu2zdl/00040000000EDF00.bin?dl=0 Try this saltysd code.bin
I did what you said...nothing. Might try a downloaded version. Gonna keep trying here 1st

Update: Screw it...im just gonna try a downloaded version. Hopefully it'll work. Have no clue why my cart version does not.

Could someone possibly help me? I'm a noob to game modding :b

I have a mod I picked out (A shadow Mewtwo) and:

1) I have no clue where to put it exactly, the file type it should be, etc.

2) Smash_Selector just... Crashes. Am I missing something? I've even tried disabling it and it still crashes.

any chance to request a "custom build"? my select button doesnt work so this is kinda pointless for me if I can't update/use it

Hey there… I created an account just for that, so please help me, I really want to get this working… So I followed every steps correctly and everytime I try to boot smash (with or without mods) the game crashes and the system has to restart. I tried removing all the mods from my SD so it appears that code.bin is the cause (the game doesn't crash anymore when I delete the file). I have a New 3DS on 11.3.0-36U with Luma3DS 6.6 installed. Yes the region/language thing is enabled. The game is on 1.1.6. I tried deleting my save file and my extra data file, but it still crashes. I tried reinstalling Luma3DS and A9LH. Nothing. I took the right code.bin for my region. Is there something wrong with the code.bin?? I also tried other code.bins from other websites. I would be very happy if someone could help me! Thanks :)

EDIT: I tried downloading the CIA version of the game and it worked. I was selecting the right option before (cartridge) so that was not the problem. Does anyone know why it doesn't work with the cartridge version?

Considering I roughly know the contents of your SD Card, you don't NEED this for the mods, it just makes it somewhat easier to swap mods against having to manually swap them.

It should look close to
"SD/saltysd/smash/ ..." and you put the mod folders in the "..." directory. Once that's done:

ENSURE "Enable region/language emu. and ext. .code" is turned on!

Boot smash. Test to see if the mods have worked.

what is the shadow mewtwo you downloaded in the format of? is it a folder with c0 or h0? if so, you put the folders in model>fighter>mewtwo>body>

could you also be more specific about the 1st question
