Did this work for you?

If I may suggest, we should have a "shared" folder for each modpack that would allow you to put mods in the "shared" smash folder, like costumes and music (to save SD card space) and read stuff like moveset and UI mods from other modpacks.

If possible I'd appreciate this.

Just updated to 11.1, also works there.

That's more of a request for SaltySD,although it might be possible through smash-selector(although unlikely). If only 3ds had symlink folders it would be extremely easy.

With Smash-Selector, it would take a while to do, as files would be transferred to and from the loaded modpack. But this would be really great as a feature of SaltySD itself.

Edit: didn't read other comments below the one I replied to :P

What do you mean by "of SaltySD"? Isn't only one modpack loaded each time in SaltySD?

SaltySD could be easier to implement a folder which is separate from the normal smash folder, but still acts as a place to load mods from. The issue though is how SaltySD is coded. It will probably require a full rewrite in order for it to make use of both folders without any issues. You are better off just keeping a smash folder containing everything you want to share across everything and just paste it into whatever new smashx folder you make (unless you are using several nus3banks, this should not be too much of an issue storage wise).

Oh, I see. Makes sense.
But yeah, thing is I use quite a bit of .nus3banks for music which is why I was asking. I have four modpacks, and simply going from two to four modpacks with the music/SE mods made my storage go from 6.8 GB to 5.9.

Well the way Smash-Selector would do this, is by moving the files from 'shared' to the modpack in use, then moving back (Which would slow load times depending on the size of the shared folder). A 'cache.bin' sort of thing would need to be implemented on top of that to tell Smash-Selector what files it should copy to and from the Shared folder.

I thought it could be implemented by reading the shared folder first, then reading the contents in the smash folder second, rather than overwriting. That'd cause no loss of data every time, and no need to move large amounts of files and cause long loading times.

But maybe searching the directories in two folders, as well as checking and finding both files but only choosing to read one is pretty hard to do as well.

Hmmmm...

Smash-Selector doesn't work that way. It just renames the mod pack you want to use to smash and the one already in use to smash[number] so that SaltySD can load it. Smash-Selector has no control over what directory your mods are loaded from and in what order they're loaded

Oh, I see what you're saying now.

I'm having an issue with one of the characters and stages I am trying to change the music for. I can't seem to change the music for Corrin's victory theme or change anything for Dunk Hunt stage. I am using the same template that the Wii U has since I thought they were the same. Am I doing something wrong or is it not covered in Smash-Selector?

In most cases, using files renamed from the Wii U version will not work. You need to extract the idsp from the WiiU's nus3bank and reinject into the 3ds's nus3bank.

From what I've seen, every Wii U nus3bank I've downloaded has worked on 3ds without any changes except for a file name change here or there. This is with characters btw.

I've tried on multiple occasion for Corrin, but nothing works when I just put the nus3bank in. Am I missing something?

Wii U nus3banks work just fine.

Your paths are all wrong. The paths for the 3DS are totally different from Wii U in some cases (you'll notice the mods are model/fighter/X/body on 3DS, but fighter/model/body on Wii U.

bgm files go in smash/sound/bgm, victory files are in this directory

My paths aren't wrong though. I put them in there. What I mean is that there is no change in anything that isn't already sorted on Smash Custom Music already. I can't even change the Duck Hunt stage music either. In fact, I only have the path leading to bgm and the other sounds.

Yep, some nus3banks work fine, but I had lots of trouble with victory themes and had to do what I described above to get them to work

Interesting… what kinds of themes were messed up?

do your nus3banks end in _3DS.nus3bank?

I just realized you said Duck Hunt. You should rename the Duck hunt file from Wii U by adding _3DS before .nus3bank.

As for Corrin... Is the sound file named Kamui? And is the path smash/sound/vc/?

Sound effect files for characters go in smash/sound/se, voices go in smash/sound/vc. You have to locate each individual se and vc file in the pack

Ex. Melee Fox's sounds

snd_se_Fox.nus3bank goes in smash/sound/se

snd_vc_Fox.nus3bank goes in smash/sound/vc
