That's weird. Do you have parental controls enabled on your devices? I always do that. Just to make sure I can't update SysNAND by mistake. Like I said, the only thing I locked down is the eShop (obviously not something you want to go into on SysNAND). I don't know why, but for some reason it always asks me for my 4 digit pin when I run a game. Both of mine are XLs. We both agree the US XL code is good (it doesn't crash like my AUS N3DS XL). Anyway, just noticed 2.1 is out. It may be gone now. I'll check again. I see there's a "clean" mode. That may help also.

That's nice you actually collected all of the games. I've got a good collection of actual games as well. I like to collect the originals. I just don't care to go looking for them when I want to play them. It's just too much of a hassle to dig through a stack/box of carts. Just like it's too much of a hassle to dig through a stack of CDs to find the album you want to listen to. Convenience. I can turn on a console, select the game I want to play, and play it (with the added benefit of being able to play translations and hacks on real hardware). Just like I can find the album I want to play in FB2K in seconds. The thing is, you said I just wanted it all for free. My point was, I don't mind paying the price at all. And no, that wasn't all of my backup units, lol. I have the Double Pro Fighter, MGH, the Dr. PC Jr. (most frustrating device ever), and GDSF7 with 128 Mbits RAM.

Hmm, wait, did the request for DSiWare support go in the plugin thread? I was sure I had posted it to the main one. Damn, so many tabs open it's easy to get confused I guess.

No parental controls on any of them. So I wouldn't be able to help with that. I have nand dumps and hardmods will be installed soon enough so I'm not too worried. The AUS N3DS seems to crash the most for me, but 2.1 has certainly made things a lot more stable for all of them. Clean mode is for booting games like Smash and MH, but it removes the other features and plugins of NTR. If you are just using it for Region Free then it may be the mode for me.

I do like my games. I like having the collection and don't mind searching for the games I want. I understand the benefits of the backup units, just never cared too much. Always enjoyed finding the rare game myself and knowing I own it. I don't actually listen to music and don't have a collection of it, but I get what you're saying.

DSiWare support would be nice along with GBA support for ambassador 3DSes but I'm not too concerned with those. I only have one DSiWare game and that's the Zelda Four Swords one.

I did exactly what you did and when I run the game the save is empty :S

1)create the save using NTR plugin
2)export a rom save with savedatafiler using the trick
3)place the replace the savedatafiler save with the NTR one
4)Import using A or using L+A?

This is the exact sequence or did I miss something????
i am stepping through this and I can see some confusion here. Go up to the page to post 64 by mmn and try that. It looks like the two files get put in the same folder and then run SDF on those two files. Not sure about the renaming part.

Are you trying to move to cia or 3ds?

I figured it out. I had to rename the save back to title id.

Question on the anti savegame restore. From 3dsbrew link it says
Anti Savegame Restore
[edit]Summary

Anti Savegame Restore (internally referred to as Save Data Rollback Prevention) is a feature originally implemented in FS module with 4.0.0-7, which prevents the user from restoring previous versions of a savegame image. This feature is not used for gamecard games. When an old version of the save is detected, the application will display an error regarding old savegame version, then delete+recreate the save(similar to when the savegame is corrupted).

So this only applies to eshop purchased games, correct?
However the release post says games such as ssb have to be run in clean mode with all features turned off. I assume savegame manager is considered a feature and is turned off in clean mode.

So will savegame manager work with the retail carts of AC, SSB, poke xy?

Thanks cell9. I am really looking forward to using this in the next few days.

When I exported my smash save, I didn't run it in clean mode. The save plugin will run and export the save, but after that it just hangs on the loading screen, pressing a to continue won't work. The save exported fine.

So. I don't know what to do with this maybe I can get a little help. So, I've been trying to dump my animal crossing save and put it into gateway because in a month I move out of my home and I wanna carry all my game with my saves. But when I dump the save of animal crossing I dont get a save of it, I just get a folder called "save_0004000000086400" and 4 files in it (see image)

What I am supose to do with this? Is there any way to put my animal crossing save into a CIA?

Smoke less weed, take off your tinfoil hat, and get a fucking job. You have way too much time on your hands.

The time spent reading your conspiracy filled rants is time I'll never get back. You're too narrow minded to have any sort of intelligent conversation and as such, I'm done interacting with you.

Install SaveDataFiler on your EmuNAND. Then use it to export your CIA save (if you haven't, run it and have it create one, SDF must not say that it is broken). Select your installed title, Y, A. Now you'll have a "filer" folder on your internal card. Go into "filer" then "UserSaveData" and you should see a folder that's a bunch of numbers (the date and time of it's creation). Inside of that should be another folder named a shortened form of the title ID. It should have the same 4 files. Just copy and paste. Then back on your 3DS, boot GW mode, go into SDF, go to the SD tab, select your backup, hold R and hit A, then hit A once more. Your save should work.

I don't smoke weed, but I have no problem with those that do. You want to bitch about lost time? It's not like anyone held a gun to your head and forced you to read my posts or anything. You have no one but yourself to blame if you considered them a waste of your time but kept reading them anyway.

sorry for my question
i have 3DS XL on 9.2

i want to dump the save file for pokemon OR and XY

but what is NTR ? how to install it ?

i have cubic ninja
It doesn't support old3DSes for decrypting all KeyY 6.0 saves now.
Please buy a 8.1-9.2 new3DS instead for this purpose, or wait for the author's CFW update.

I'm starting to think the parental control bug is on Nintendo. It's apparently triggering because it's loading a game from another region, and can't recognize that region's restriction levels. This still shouldn't happen if it's completely disabled, but Nintendo probably never tested this, since they never intended running games from other regions to happen. If the person from the KARL team was correct (sorry, bad with names), and this is only using ARM11, that's probably not even something cell9 can fix (nor is DSiWare support something that can be added, as both would probably require kernel mode). I'll investigate this thing further.

Well, being able to play translations and unreleased prototypes on real hardware is nice (not to mention promo carts like NWC). And playing Road Blasters (that laser disc game they converted) on a real SNES was a trip. I know those retro flash carts seem expensive, but they're also much higher quality than a mass produced DS cart. They're some fun devices to mess with if you get the opportunity. If you ever find one in your possession, you know who to ask if you hit any snags with it.

Can someone tell me where i can fin ntr 1.0? (that is old 3ds version, isn't it?) I'm not sure if which i found here was the correct one and i dont want to put wear stuff in my 3ds!

Thanks!

EDIT: Well, i managed to find it but now this: Does this have to OPEN de game? Beacause i have NTR 1.0 (4.x firm) and im aiming to open alpha sapphire which cant be opened in that firmware of course, thanks!

You're most likely right about the parental controls.

Ah yeah, you got me there. I can't play nearly as many prototypes or promo carts. I have a few developer units but even then getting ahold of those carts would cost a fortune.

this doesn't appear to be working on my O3DS using NTR 1.0 I get a screen flash once, and it wont back up or restore (I'm trying to re-import my pokemon x/Y saves to 4.x, I successfully dumped them on my new3DSxl using this)
