Hello, I'm new here, I wanted to give thanks for the program, I always wanted to play ps1 games in my 3ds, but the emulators didn't work or I don't know how to use them XD
I have a little problem with one game, and I would love to get it working or at last get to know why it doesn't work.
It's with parasite eve 2, after de intro the game stays in a black screen with no sound, I can't open the emulator menu but nothing more.
If I can be answered I would be pleased, Thanks in regards.
Well there are a lot of SBI files, I dont know what to download and how to use it, would you be so kind to explain me in an easy way? I am not so go good in englis

Download the sbi for your exact game. For example if you want to play ape escape (e) thrn you need the .sbi with that name. Use that .sbi when you inject the game using ps1 forwarder.
regards guys. A query, I tried to convert Japanese games, but when you try them the screen goes black, try using the Japanese retroarch bios and the same thing happens, also with HLE, but nothing. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Or does the conversion only work for USA games?
Hi there, is there any way I can customize the full banner, rather than having the 'playstation' banners on the left and right sides? And I'd also really like to use custom images for the icon, but it seems to always generate the icon from the banner image.
edit: oh, I see, I can do that by replacing the asset files and then simply not picking a banner, got it

all the games use the bios listed in the op (that's how pcsx-rearmed works), if a game has problems is most probably an incompatibility with the game in question rather than the region of it.
and yes to all those options but show internal fps, multitap and pad2type onwards (only pad1type is editable).

Thank you so much for your answer.
Apparently my problem is the same game "Tetris with Cardcaptor Sakura: Eternal Heart" there is no way to convert it and it works.
I will deal with other games, although I like that one a lot.
Another question: is there a way I can turn off aspect ratio correction? I'm making a CIA for Tomba which is 320x224, and I'd rather just have it very slightly off from 4:3 and pixel perfect. I tried a few things in retroarch.cfg but couldn't find out how to do it. I tried setting the aspect_ratio_index to 19 (which should be 'custom') and that did this
edit: alright, figured that out too
set aspect_ratio_index to 22 and then use custom_viewport_width/custom_viewport_height to set the exact needed values.
On a side note, I found out that the 3DS has a limited color depth on its screen, so if you're using a png as the banner you need to posterize it to 16 for it to show up accurately.
If you use imagemagick you can do that with this command: convert banner_border.png -ordered-dither 2x1,16 banner_border_posterized.png
That will get the following result:
a little late but here is the updated core with more optimizations (nightly mar 3 commit 8fda5dd).
I also enabled retroarch autosave interval and set it up at 60 seconds so memory cards won't get lost again (or will get lost less frequently at least) if the emulator happens to crash.
There's one thing though, I'm running SOTN, which works great, but the game and music runs and plays a little too fast, which messes up/ mutes most sound effects. Someone got any tips on how to tweak the settings (f.a. Cpu clock speed) to get the speed more accurate? (Also, saving works, but I can't load any previously saved files since it says ''Used''. Thanks in advance (this question may or may not have been asked and answered before, but I didn't came across it yet)
This is pretty good. I tested both Persona 2 games and they run at full speed with no problems.
Bust a Move had a bit of problems depending on stage. Heat dance was smooth but Shorty stage was very laggy. However I'm sure using a bios and doing some touch ups in Emulator options will fix things.
Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody knows how to fix a problem I'm having.
I'm playing Grandia and it's all running fine but on the right side of the screen there is a vertical bar maybe 2 or 3 pixels wide that flashes between black and depicting what the game should be looking like.
Not sure if it's just a setting in the forwarder I should tick to resolve it so thought I'd come here.

I don't know if there is a solution for the game through the forwarders options, but one solution would be to stretch the image far enough to remove those pixels. You could also try to use crop overscan to see if that helps. Don' t know if that's an option with the forwarder but you could always test it loading it through retroarch.
