ok - maybe i should clarify - i know how to use themehax ie hold left trigger etc etc

- i know how to install the official 1.2 version - my problem is i do not know how to install the untethered version (offline version) should one need to do this.

yes i know how to install the official 1.2 version
and yes i saw the instructions previously
see below

This will remove any custom theme you have installed and put the original White one!
1.
Download this .zip file
2.Extract the 3ds folder inside the .zip file and place it on the root of your 3ds SD Card. (Merge folders if asked)
3.Connect your 3ds to the internet (Internet is only needed the first time for the installation) and use another hax method (Tubehax or browserhax) to open the Homebrew Launcher.
4.On the Homebrew Launcher look for themehax_installerv_1.2 and select it pressing A.
5.Now you will be asked to press A to install Home Menu themehax. Press A.
6.Wait a bit and on the bottom of your bottom screen it should say Install finished succesfully. Press START to exit.
7.Now just turn off your 3ds and turn it back on holding the L Trigger and you should boot straight to the Homebrew Launcher. To boot normaly to your 3ds Home Menu just don't hold L while turning it on.

HERE IS THE PROBLEM:
- OFFICIAL 1.2 VERSION HAS A "3ds" FOLDER as per step number 2
- so in the untethered version - when u unzip ''themehax_installerSD" - where is the so called 3ds folder? .....WHAT FOLDER EXACTLY DO YOU COPY AND PASTE TO YOUR SD CARD IN THE UNTETHERED ZIP FILE AND WHERE DO YOU PUT IT? .... IT DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME FOLDER STRUCTURE AS THE OFFICIAL 1.2 VERSION
- LOOK GUYS - I KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE OFFICIAL 1.2 VERSION AND GOT IT WORKING NO PROBLEM ... THE FOLDER STRUCTURE IN THE UNTETHERED VERION IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND THRWOING ME OFF.

1.2 OFFICIAL VERSION HAS THIS
3ds - themehax_installer - themepayload (then a bunch of .lz files in here)
- themehax_installer.3dsx
-themhax_installer.smdh
-themhax-installer.xml

THE UNTETHERED VERSION HAS THIS:
themehax_installerSD - _release - themhax_installer - otherapp (bunch of .bin files)
- thempayload (bunch of .lz files)
- themehax_installer.3dsx
-themhax_installer.smdh
-source - archive.c
- archive.h
-otherapp_payloads.s
- themehax_installer.c
- build.bat
- clean.bat
- makefile

SO THE FOLDER STRUCTUR IN THE UNTETHERED VERSION IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO HERE

I KNOW IN THE OFFICIAL 1.2 VERSION THAT YOU JUST COPY EVERYTHING FROM THE "themehax_installer" FOLDER AND PASTE IT INTO THE 3ds folder on the SD card

so what the hell do you do with the untethered version - there are a whole bunch of extra folders ...

re untethered version - do you just copy :

themhax_installer - otherapp (bunch of .bin files)
- thempayload (bunch of .lz files)
- themehax_installer.3dsx
-themhax_installer.smdh

and thorw all the other folders and files out??????

you guys get what i am sayin?????

anyone can help a brother out here?

im not a programmer or anything but i am fairly tech savvy .. i just don't know what your supposed to do here for the untethered version - ie to install it.

for the normal 1.2 version i can do that no problem folks

thanks... whoever can help me out here

- download the untethered version and take a look at it

- if anyone that installed the untethered version can give me a step by step guide that would be appreciated

thanks

-

Just make a new folder in the root of your SD card, call it "3ds".

Make another file inside that called "themehax_installer".

Then put the .3dsx, .smdh and the themepayload from the untethered version into that folder.

I think that's how it should be done. Alternatively, there's a starterkit on smea's site that already has an offline version of themehax.

Ok - thanks for the advice ....

so should i just ignore the other files and folders included in the untethered zip file and delete them?
ie

-source - archive.c
- archive.h
-otherapp_payloads.s
- themehax_installer.c
- build.bat
- clean.bat
- makefile

or do i put these files somewhere on the sd card???

thank you

maybe the person who created the zip file can give me some advice if possible??

thanks guys.

oh btw - i checked smea's starter kit and to me it appears the same as the official online version 1.2 of themehax ... are you sure it's an offiline version in the starter kit that smea has?

What's failing here?
EpLT2TI.jpg

It says finished succesfully at the bottom, but there are also error messages.
Holding L at boot does nothing, so I assume the error message are correct

Just ignore that!... Download this file (it's the same offline installer, but without source folder), then, decompress it and put all "3ds" folder on your SD.

No, Smea pack has just the official online version of installer!

It's understandable he wouldn't know seeing as a majority of the users here aren't developers or even compilers. I didn't know about it either until recently when I set up Devkit and experimented with some homebrew stuff.
