One thing that pisses me off. Suddenly freeshop is the spawn of satan because OP is a pedo. Literal child mentality which is kinda funny considering the situation.

How can you respect someone who ran a child porn website?

Wow, maybe because he was and is still a good dev? I seriously dont know why it is so common to suddenly completely disrespect a person and/ or his work after he fucked up, instead of just hating on him maybe people should want him to change for the better, as its obvious which one would be more helpful

No decent human being could defend/respect his actions. But with that said, we can still try to keep freeShop going. freeShop is an amazing homebrew for the 3DS and is open source. Anyone can pick up the project and keep it running. If need be, they can even change the name of it and make something different. There's no reason to let freeShop die over the dev being a piece of shit.
Basically freeShop is a good homebrew made by a terrible person.

Most (if not all) of his accounts (GitHub, Twitter, YouTube, ct) have info (including first and last names, photographs, and location) that all match the info provided in the news article.

Unfortunately it looks like there's become this growing stigma around this project. It's rather unfortunate that people are tethering his crime with his project instead of just seeing them as two separate things. I read somewhere back in the thread that he was planning on passing the torch to someone else and I am guessing this trail was because of that. But as of right now, no one is sure if he ever did or if that person will pick up the project.

I completely agree. The guy obviously needs help, and because of the stigma pedophilia has, nobody wants to look into how to help them. I'm honestly torn tbh. I hate pedophiles as much as the next person and want them to rot in prison but at the same time shouldn't they be allowed to seek help? Maybe get better and not have those urges anymore? Idk. It's a complicated subject.
