To be able to use the themes. First download them with freeshop. Then go to settings and go to data amanagememnt, then 3DS, then DLC. And delete the themes data.
Then go back to home menu. Go to change theme, then go to theme shop, and then go to purchased themes, and you will see that you can download all of them. If you delete the themes from freeshop, it will delete the ticket and this won't work.

I dont get why you're all so negative. Cant anyone explain why ciangel doesnt care about net hickups and why freeshop cant do the same thing?
    Is ciangel downloading files differently?

is it because freeshop is installing games as they download? is it possible to add a timeout time of 280 seconds or something? like basically no timeout?

It's not that CIAngel doesn't care, it's that we don't monitor for them. In CIAngel, if a download fails, shit goes south fast. FreeShop tries to actually handle this case by pausing/resuming or whatever. CIAngel is also single-threaded while FreeShop allows doing stuff like browsing while downloading, etc etc.

FreeShop implements a far more advanced and complicated implementation of downloading than CIAngel.

Also, both projects are open source, feel free to contribute if you think fixing things like this is just that easy: https://github.com/Cruel/freeShop

This is why people are negative: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-freeshop-open-source-eshop-clone.426573/page-158#post-6697151

Yes CIAngel is downloading differently, it doesn't use timeouts and will wait indefinitely even if nothing is being downloaded, as long as connection doesn't end. If you lower buffer size to minimum and timeout to maximum, you can download at 0.5 KB/s. The problem only happens if you're downloading slower than that. The solution isn't to disable timeouts. If anything I would have it keep retrying indefinitely.

yeah i read that, he keeps comming back with the same issue. and clearly he's a kid, with little understanding of the whole issue. but that's no reason to have x people bitch and moan like they're children themselves, adding like four times more posts, while he tries to explain further (and further explanaition has been requested of him).
yes, it didn't help that he does not understand what buffer size is (as do most people using this I'd assume), since he seems to think its used to set maximum download speed like you would on a downloadmanager. still, he said he tried it and it didn't fix his problem.

granted its not that easy to understand what he's trying to explain, him being a child and all, but it seems to come down to them having a fast connection, thats a bit unstable.
not entirely unheard off in some more rural parts of the world using satelite internet.
or when you share your connection with a family that likes its netflix and stuff.
or when you use LTE mobile internet in your home and all your neighbourhood does too.

seeing as how he managed to get the error at minimum buffer size, there are probably dropouts in his connection that are either long enough to go past the 12 seconds of max buffer time, or plentiful enough for freeshop to just give up the download.
or there might actually be an issue with freeshop having trouble with high fluctuation of download speeds.

if there's no more that can be done about it, like higher timeout times, lower buffer size, or better resumability of internet error downloads (they start over from 0 in my experience), then yes, its pointless for him to come back and he should just continue to use ciangle and downloaded cias because it seems to work better for him.

or there's still things that can be done to enhance user experience for some people and you can look into it, even though you can't promise anything and you don't really have too.

i get getting annoyed, but even if he was just a spammer (which seems super unlikely), shouldn't you all be grown up enough to ignore that, instead of playing right into his hands?

I blocked him from this thread only after I saw TheCruel's repeated tries to help him. If he was allowed to stay in here he'd have probably kept spamming the thread for ages without even trying the solutions people gave him.

Yup. And now he is starting in on the CIAngel thread with the exact same stuff.

but he did try them. it only took till this page for him to make that somewhat clear. before, he questioned lowering buffer size as a solution (since he thought it would just lower download speed, which of course, wouldn't make sense to him), but chances are he tried lowering it back then too. it just didn't help. he couldn't explain what his http settings were, because he didn't know what that was. and he made the suggestion to get rid of those options, because to him, it was the only thing different from ciangel, the program that somehow didn't have the download problems.

not saying young, inexperienced and non-tech-savy people can't be annoying, but you can't chose your audience.

it was either that, or come back with a new user name.

And where does he say he's using minimum buffer size? I asked him a few times what his buffer size is and he doesn't answer. Stop making up stuff.

    — Posts automatically merged - Please don't double post! —

And yet he's incapable of responding with "what is that?" or "how do I change that?"

And also he already said he lowered his buffer settings (to what, nobody knows), so how can you even claim that? Nothing you have said makes any sense.

why are we still bothering with the "who-must-not-be-named-because-of-block" and not focusing on the brilliant job @TheCruel has done for all of us?
we all saw the conversation and we know who is right or wrong.

Thats where he said that. its also where he once again shows he doesn't know what buffer size does. maybe that would have been something to explain, because he wondered multiple times about what that option is good for, if it doesn't limit download speed (and doesn't fix his problem)
it almost sounds like it made him time out quicker even? but that's just guesswork.

as for http settings, sorry, i misread a post there, you're right, scratch that part.
i thought you were asking for internet settings beyond outside freeshop, which i assumed he wouldn't know about.

the point still stands though, he doesn't know what he's doing on a technical level and doing the two things he can do (move those markings back and forth) didn't seem to solve his problem. because his connection is the root cause of the issue. and freeshop doesn't do unstable connections.
or rather, it somewhat can deal with them, but it often has to start over the download, which brings you to an endless loop of trying but never finishing the download.
but we're moving in circles now. if "keep going freeshop, even if you get 0kb/s for 30 seconds every once in a while" is no option, i will assume there was no helping him from the get go. but also, this could have been handled better.

Can you guys just drop that topic, please?
He got banned from the topic for a reason, and unless you are a mod or admin, I don't see the point of arguing over something that's already done.

Please, keep on track and focus on the app's discussion, not some random troll's action.

What do you search in freeshop to get the theme ticket?

Your better off using CHMM2 and CHMM formated official themes
