Hi guys, I'm kinda new in this thing... I've succesfully installed FBI 1.4.15 on my O3DS sysnand 10.1.0-27E and Ninjhax 2.1. I understand that I can't install unsigned CIAs at all but I was wondering if I'm still able to install legit CIAs on this particular firmware... I tried installing Luigi's Mansion 2 but I got the "0x2f" error... Thank you :)

You can't install any CIAs

Thank you for your answer. So except for custom themes and few homebrews the ninjhax 2.0 is pretty useless on newer firmwares? Or... Did I miss something? :/
It's not "useless". [emoji19]
It may not be able to install CIAs, but it can still do awesome stuff when it comes to homebrew, but everyone is so focused on emulators and piracy... I would love to have a dynarec core for emulators, but I want to see more games and ports.

I should've put the word "useless" into quotation marks, what I meant to say is that, at the moment, I did't find many useful homebrews except for some (slow) emulator and few games which are not that good...:unsure::unsure:

In most emuNANDs, FBI won't work via Ninjhax as it can't acquire necessary permissions through kernel hax.
So to get FBI into emuNAND, i installed it to sysNAND first, formatted emuNAND from the FBIed sysNAND, confirmed it works, then restored a sysNAND backup from before the installation to have it clean again. A little unwieldy, but okay.

Starting FBI from sysNAND via Ninjhax will still show me the CTR-P-CFBI title in Launch/Delete Title mode, though. I checked my sys/emu ticket databases though, it should be gone from sysNAND. What gives?

If you installed it to the SD card, its probably because your sysNAND and emuNAND are linked and therefore share SD titles.

I thought about something like that shortly after posting, and went and removed the 00193000 folder from the SD card. It still showed up in the list. So it's probably stored in the title.db on the SD card?
That should be alright, as long as i can remove my SD and have a 'legit' 3DS i'm happy. :)

Is there a reason why installing FBI to NAND instead of SD isn't possible? It's small enough that size would not be an issue, at least. The Streetpass Lobby is is also stored in NAND, i think, and that shows up in the Home Menu.

It probably is possible, you'd just need to select the NAND destination before installing.

I did try it (on emuNAND of course, just in case something goes horribly wrong) and it shows up in the Launch Title list for NAND, but it doesn't show up in the Home Menu for some reason.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
