I would suggest running a filesystem check on your SD card if you haven't already, just in case. Following the same basic layout I haven't been able to reproduce the issue.
I've done it is not with errors in the directory SD is normal.

This is gonna sound absolutely stupid but can v2.4.1 now work without hard modding, or field runners exploit is probably going to be a no but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Okay... I think I found a glitch.

As stated, I've been using a 128GB with A9LH and have FBI 2.4.1 which I'm using to install my all .CIA files. I looooove using "Install All and Delete All" which allows me to bulk install and walk away.

However, this has also caused for me to return to my system all bunked up, thus having to reformat the mSD and copy over my backup and resume from there (gets annoying).

So here's what I just noticed:

While using bulk Install/Delete All on a 128GB, sometimes FBI does not pause long enough between files to delete and then perform a refresh after deleting before continuing to next file. Thus the next file's attributes become corrupted and this results in all sorts of calamity.

My recommendation for FBI 4.2.2? Simple. When performing an "Install/Delete All" it needs to:

*Install completes*
PAUSE
DELETE FILE
PAUSE
REFRESH (1)
PAUSE
REFRESH (2)
PAUSE
UNPAUSE
*Continue to install next file*

Why? Well... with 64-128GB it can take the 3DS some time to load all those files, especially when filling up more than 32GB. In fact, most of my problems started after exceeding the 32-64GB limit.

And the ways it corrupts the .CIA attributes:

  • HIDDEN - This is annoying, mostly results in a 106 error.
  • READ ONLY - This not only gives 106 error, but then continues to crash FBI and then deletes other titles already installed at random. Yes, I mean -RANDOM-. It's such a joy to go into Settings>3DS SOFTWARE> and see a bunch of titles greyed out. Sometimes the Icon is there, but the game title won't appear on top screen, which is a good indicator it's greyed out and gone.
  • And my favorite... UNKNOWN or MISSING .CIA FILE - WTF!!!??? Yeah, this erases all games including FBI (not hs.app FBI, but my actual .CIA install of FBI and any other tools). Then I have a mass of empty folders and NO GAMES ANYWHERE... which means it is time to reformat and copy over mSD backup from PC. Yeah, this is a real pain in the 3-D-@SS.

So yeah... need some time to finish loading 64-128GB SD/mSD cards while performing a "Install/Delete All". Then it can continue installing next file which will have properly refreshed with no corrupted attributes. Hence the double refresh.

Just thought I might point that out...

CONCLUSION / HINT ON HOW TO DEAL WITH THIS:

So how am I dealing with this? Currently I have been dividing my .CIAs into subfolders so I don't crash out of FBI trying to load over 50+ titles in the same folder (yeah, I learned the hard way). When I go into a folder, I refresh until all games in folder have "ATTRIBUTES: NONE". And yes, sometimes when installing more than say... 5 files or more, I start to get worried. So I try to keep my subfolders small & organized. Once all files seem to be read and okay, then I go ahead and perform my Install/Delete All.

Just in case anyone else is having this problem...

EDIT: and even when it's just x2 files this happens and then I have to install one by one. Happens a lot with large .CIA files.

Hi @Steveice10
There is a strange bug with FBI 2.4.1, some cia files are detected as a directory and can't be installed. For exemple that is the case with fb_alpha_cps2_libretro.cia form this archive http://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.3.3/nintendo/3ds/RetroArch_cia.7z
If a go back to my H&S injected FBI version 2.2.1 that cia install corectcly.
Thanks for your work

Playing with Linux on Windows 10 (WSL). You can build FBI from source but you'll need to compile bannertool and replace the FBI/buildtools/3ds/bannertool-linux64 with the newly built bannertool to make it work. The Windows Subsystem for Linux is built on Ubuntu 14.04 and the packages are quite old by now. Other than that, it works great to build everything just like doing it on a Linux-machine. :)

Actions like installing (and deleting) CIAs in bulk already have their own separate file list, and the action does not begin until it is fully populated. There is no refresh process, or a need for one.

Could you try the build a few posts back to see if that helps your issue at all?

Hey guys, quick question:

I am on V11.0.0-33E with my o3DS and would like to play legit cia games. What would be the best/easiest/cheapest approach for that?

Hardmod or another system with CFW. There are no other options. Sorry.
