Theoretically it shouldn't be possible (well it probably is with *.CIA but it shouldn't with *.3DS and *.3DSX). But there might be other exploits/ system flaws that might be able to brick the 3DS.
There was a DS bricker which wrote garbage into the DS' profile (which is probably the only place a normal application can access), just like the GW exploit.

Think about it, going to a friend home, open the browser, launch it and watch him screaming in pain

well yeah, .3DS or .cia, could both be used to brick the 3DS fairly trivially, big red menu has access to uninstalling/replacing titles, you could just make something similar, that simply deletes system titles and shows this screen......technically not a B(lue)SOD, but it would stop the system booting ending up with a B(lack)SOD

but really for the most part if your using emunand, it would be much more complex to just brick sysnand, as the system would no longer have access to it.....thats not to say its impossible, just that the person doing it would have to know what they are doing, where as someone uninstalling system titles could copy most of the code from others

Launcher.dat files are the most risky to play with, they have total control on the system and hardware, so they can do stuff like locking the nand

.3dsx are pretty much the safest to use, they don't have access to higher functions, so cant really do much in terms of system damage, not to say it would be impossible, but to do it they would need to be exploiting something else to gain higher access
