I'm gunna test this on my o3ds with hbl 2.5. I'll let you know if it works. So just to clarify, I need to delete the shareware pak0? And what files do I need from the abandonware and where do they go?

the pak1.pak inside the 1d1 file idk if giving you a link is legal here on gbatemp.... just search quake abandonware and click on emuparadise within the 1st page

The pak0.pak should be the same but you can replace it with the abandonware version just to be sure

worked for me. here is all the info i can give.

o3ds rxtools emunand 10.3.
hbl via yellows8 homebrew loader launcher
hbl 2.5

deleted two files:
sd:\3ds\ctrQuake\id1\ config.cfg and pak0.pak

copied three files config.cfg, pak0.pak and pak1.pak
from
abandonware archive id1 folder
to
sd:\3ds\ctrQuake\id1\

no but I realized why it didn't work.... its simply not compatable... I loaded the same pak1.pak file through my wii and it read it wasn't compatable so, I hypothesize that's the same thing that's happening to ctrquake

Maybe the download was bad. I'd download it again. Because I used the same one.

That or a ram save built into the port. As of now I'm using that touch keyboard to type save/load and having to remember what my save names are.

Omg, I'm fucking retarded. I was going through every menu option like 'wtf'. Except 'single player'. Cause 'why would you have to start a single player game to save?'

You can change the screen size in options. It will remove the hud and just place like your health and such in text

Yep, I know I can change the screen size in options. But I never saw that the information was replaced in text (when using the biggest screen option).
