I got the right file, I know for sure now. Do I need to unlink my NANDS before I do this? It's cycling back into the CtrBoot menu when I select Run CFW even with "Enable EmuNAND" enabled.

You installed homemenuhax in emuNAND. Press the button you configured to make sure it doesn't run and change the theme in emuNAND.

weird....

I copied all files to the microSD, then place the "firmware.bin" and "cetk" then the "slot0x25keyX.bin" and "slot0x11key96.bin" to the root.

but when I load it on the ctrBootManager through the 3dsx file, it shows a black screen on N3DS 10.3, should I make a extra step?

EDIT: nevermind, I don't think there is something bad, but I just booted it from the homebrew menu in menuhax, is this latest version unstable to launch?

EDIT2: nevermind 2.0, I had it boot perfectly once I loaded from menuhax, after that it is booting nicely from the ctrBootManager

Uhm. Yes, it isn't supposed to work on N3DS 10.3. You should downgrade to 9.0-9.2.

@mid-kid are you going to be porting the patch that rx tools uses for agb?

That patch is so small, anyone can port it (assuming they also fix the reboot patch to load agb). I mostly added support for patching it for a person in IRC who seemed interested in messing with it (TWL patching support should also be easy to add, now). Will take a bit till I look into it myself.

For EmuNAND 10.3 N3DS, which specific files do I still need? Kinda confused

Copy the firmware.bin linked at the bottom of the post to the cakes directory. Do the same with cetk.
If you have an old 3ds with a firmware lower than 7.0, and you plan to use a emuNAND version 7.0 or higher, you need to get a file named slot0x25keyX.bin from the internet, and place it on the root of your SD card, and make sure you enable the "Load 7.x NCCH crypto key" patches.
If you have a new 3ds with a firmware lower than 9.6, and you plan to use a emuNAND version 9.6 or higher, you need to get a file named slot0x11key96.bin from the internet, and place it on the root of your SD card.

Does Cakes have native Region-free Support without FMP?
Future hopeful features:
  • Region free.

And what about twl from emunand like rei has? Works?

Never heard about ReiNAND having such a feature. DSiWare has always had to be installed in sysNAND.
In any case, booting DS carts seems to work on n3ds, but doesn't work as well for me on o3ds. If you're on o3ds, try disabling the reboot patches.

Yeah I mean running it from emunand, while as well being installed in sysnand. And of course ds card boot out of Emunand. I'll just pop cakes on my SD later

Sorry, i think i didn't made myself clear, i tried it on JP N3DS 9.1, but with a set up emunand on 10.3 and it wasn't booting from ctrBootManager.

I think it was matter of setting it up since it booted perfectly from ctrBootManager once I run it once from Homebrew channel

Just want to double check for N3DS

Does it require both of these on the root of the card ?

slot0x25keyX.bin
slot0x11key96.bin

OR just the Firmware and cetk files ?

Thanks

slot0x25keyX.bin isn't necessary anymore. slot0x11key96.bin must be there.
