ROM Hack Relative Search

So, I want to translate Nobunaga's Ambition for the DS. (Nobunaga no Yabou DS)
I've tried about everything detailed on romhacking.net, but can't get a relative search to work, nor can I get a sjis.tbl to make things legible.

So, what am I doing wrong?
What's the first step in getting a working translation table for this game?
Is there a nice person that would like to teach me?

You have to consider the possiblity that the text is compressed. It helps if you can find the font image first. If it's a NTFR file, you can be pretty sure a shift JIS table is going to work.

read the faqs here on the wiki of gbatemp...

also give crystaltile2 a try
also try looking up a couple a tables .tbl
if you need an example pm me I have about a dozen or so from other peoples projects

okay you need the table to make the script visible so you can dump the script and then translate it so you can reinsert it back where you got it from
did you follow that if not you didn't read everything you needed to
