We have to show just a little bit of more patience, bombarding the same questions will not help. The beta is being tested means release is imminent
Yes sorry my bad.
I just got an itch to show to the people on many discord server that they were wrong about Rei Cfw will never released.

He's only asked a couple of times ;)
Yes I’m sorry and I will have my patience

Same here, the amount of naysayers in that discord is sickening. Is it so hard to accept that there can be equally talented people outside reswitched. Though I believe once ReiNx is release , they will be the first to come crawling back here without any shame. But that's a topic for another discussion, no intention to start a war.

Nah I rather have it keep staying on 3.0 and coldboot will eventually happen, maybe not soon but it will and that's why I am keeping it on 3.0. I also don't care about the updating method because that forces you to autorcm wich I also don't want to do. Emunand is a good option for the people wanting to stay on lower firmwares. I am not interested in backups so I don't care if I waste 32gigs on my SD card because that's all I need it for anyway

It's a year from now, only a handful are on 3.0.0 as everyone has updated due to the ease of using a jig and not being able to play games released for well over a year, they also may be using coldboot on any firmware version by installing a four wire modchip (solderless solution is also potentially released).

Do you honestly think people at this point are going to spend the extensive amount of time trying to get a software implementation of it for such a small, small group of people?

You have to understand you are in a very small minority with what you hope happens, there is no real incentive to stay on 3.0.0 even with potentialy warm boots anymore due to how quick and easy it is to get into RCM.

Yeah like it has been stated multiple times over countless of threads. Software implementation will happen when atmosphere releases and not everybody see's RCM as the superior option. I don't care if I have to wait for another year because I have tons of games to play anyway and eventually I can. And the amount of people isn't that small, there are still countless of people on older firmwares and it will be released. Let people decide for themselves what they want instead of always shouting RCM is superior just because you yourself are using that method

I'm really not shouting RCM is superior, the problem you have for coldboot is devs will look at the scene and say "There is already an easy hardware solution to that, not going to bother". I personally am on 3.0.0 but will be updating as I will just use a modchip and be done with it. In all due respect I also think you greatly exaggerated the number of people on 3.0.0 or lower, as this number decreases every day.

We already know every new Switch wont work with coldboot, with the new hardware variants not supporting it. I admire your hopes for possible future implementations, but honestly I would be very skeptical this will happen.

Emunand? Maybe.
Coldboot? Don't bet on it.

Wish you the best of luck my friend with what you hope happens for the scene, hopefully in 5 years time you won't remeber this post as being right.

But I never said I want coldboot now. I just said I rather have an emunand solution now and just keep it on the lowest possible. Eventually it will happen and it's fine if I would have to wait years. And devs usually don't act like that. Most do it because they like doing it. They don't do it because there's already a solution ready but to test themselves and see if they can.

Thanks for your work on this, really looking forward to it!

Regarding the emunand discussions- it's not just about preserving a low firmware sysnand, it's also a really nice option to have a 'clean' sysnand and then an emunand that you keep completely offline with all your hacks and homebrew. Yes we can go back to a clean sysnand by flashing a nand dump but emunand is so much more convenient, it's also undesirable to repeatedly flash the nand for multiple reasons.

@BakerMan, Any idea what happened? I hope that your brother's doing good.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.

He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.
