Gaming Region Lock and multiplayer

Hi, everyone.

Since the 3DS is region locked that means If I have an european 3DS I won't be able to play a multiplayer game(via local wifi) with an american 3DS, right?

If so... What's the point? Has someone tested it? I'm really looking forward for information about this matter with Mario Kart 7, also... Guess I won't be able to play with my friends

Never thought about that. I'm pretty sure the online WiFi all connects to the same server for games like MK7.

You should see my thread, there is no answer yet, but I can tell you that Starfox 64, Dead or Alive Dimensions and Zelda 4 Swords 25th anniversary are not working in local multiplayer between different region 3DS. I hope this will not be the case with Mario Kart 7...

They do work on wifi mode tho... I remember fighting with an asian person on DoA once. =S

Yes, online mode in all of the games I tried is working worldwide

Here is a great example of the match making on the 3DS itself. This has answer a lot of my questions and hopefully yours:

edit: Your special bbcode, youtube html and media html code, are conflicting each other. Either change some of the script or remove the other. I suggest removing the [media] bbcode.
