"We needed to make sure that there was really an opportunity for it. We wanted to see how it would sell in Europe, and based on the performance in Europe, we would look to bring it here to the U.S. It did well in Europe; we decided to bring it in here. We took a very smart approach and we sold it ourselves online in terms of physical goods as well as a focus on GameStop as a retailer, and it was a very good effort for us. (It sold) Quite well." - Reggie

XSEED comments on The Last Story sales:

"The Last Story has definitely gotten the support of the fans. It's doing really well, and we hope word of the game's quality/sexy packaging will continue to entice more to check it out." - XSEED Jessica Chavez

On Monolith Soft Wii U localization:

"We know that they're working on a game. I personally haven't seen it, but I know there's a lot of excitement in Japan and Kyoto about what they're working on, so I look forward to seeing it. In the end, if it's a game that we decide to publish from... what would be a second-party standpoint, certainly we'd love to bring it here to the US. The way we look at the opportunity is, given a level of marketing support, how much are we gonna sell and is it gonna be a profitable venture?" - Reggie

Really Reggie? Monolith Studios aren't a second-party developer. They're 100% owned by Nintendo now. Good to hear that both games sold well, though.

*insert comment about how, if they'd released these games properly and at the Wii's peak, they'd have done even better*

What constitutes 'sold well' for XSEED is likely to be much different to Ninty's definition.

I also like how Reggie describes the gimped approach they took to Xenoblade as smart. It's fucking obvious NoA published Xenoblade half heartedly.

Well I quite liked TLS and I'm enjoying Xenoblade so I'm glad they did well, I'll probably buy TLS or both sometime.

That's why Nintendo needs to listen to their fans more and translate Japanese games.
That'll never happen unfortunately.
...They translate pretty much all of their games. What are you going on about?
I'm not talking about the Wii but all Nintendo consoles and all of their 1st party games get translated but not all of their 3rd party games. There is still a backlog of untranslated GBA and DS and Wii probably.

They're not responsible for third-party games.

I didn't know Nintendo had to translate 3rd party games. LOL
Oh wait... They don't.

Of course they're not but it doesn't change that the library of those Nintendo consoles still has untranslated games.

...what?

You were arguing that Nintendo needs to translate more games. Not that their systems have untranslated games (which no shit, they do)

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2

I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
