what is rednand?

Basically an emunand (emulated nand). You can update it to the latest firmware, install unsigned titles/games, play online games, etc, without messing up with your actual system nand.

what is rednand?

Redirected NAND. It is, for lack of full knowledge, loading a copy of the nand off of the SD card so that we can do as we please with it such as sig patches.

The 3DS has its implementation of it as well. The entire point is so that we don't brick our system nand.

Litterally all I want is the ability to dump my scratched wii u discs, and keep a copy of them on a USB HDD or something, along with being able to run them.

The problem with most of them is that, for one, they don't have the USA .tik files for it.

Please, Don't rush it. If it bricks consoles because it was rushed, people WILL be angry about it, and blame the developers, when it isn't their fault, because they were rushed.

uh well, with patches you can install whatever you want, it doesn't need to be signed, and i'm not sure if the patches include region free stuff rn

i think they will iosuhax just userfriendly and then release it. The only think the we get through this is region free and everything else have we already since the coldboot exploit was not smeas work i think.
