I know this is an odd request, but I remember seeing a red homebrew channel somewhere a long time ago. It was just a forwarder, yet had the same animations as the official homebrew channel.

So from this, I have two questions:
-How do you extract animations from wads/channels
-Where could I find the red homebrew channel? Looks nice

Edit: I am NOT referring to this one:

Edit2: It seems recoloring channels are considered "simple to make, yet hated by TeamTwitzers", mind linking me to a tutorial?

is this it??

as for 'extracting animation' the way images/textures are used in an icon or banner is governed by a BRLAN file. CustomiseMii can extract these files and wad images if you want, but a lot of reading is in order to understand whats going on - maybe try simple image replacement at first to a wad animation you like? further reading here:

Be sure if you edit anything that you have a way to backup your wii, as a bad file will make you not be able to boot to your system menu.

I've done wadding two years ago, the worst that happened was the banner corrupted the scrolling feature which was easy to fix.

Well this is frowned upon by Team Twiizers, it is simple to do:

Grab yourself BlueDump, CustomizeMii, and this homebrew channel forwarder dol
Now, use BlueDump to dump the Homebrew Channel to a WAD (its in Titles, just scroll to it and hit 1, then Backup to WAD)
Once you have that, open it in CustomizeMii, go to the banner tab, and extract all of the images to a folder. Do the same in the icon tab.
Once all your images are in a folder, just modify the color. If you don't want to do this manually, I wrote a simple app that can do them all at once. Here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/download/lrluadda0s0rhwn/HSLadjust.exe
Just select all the images and drag and drop them on to that exe and choose your options in the window that comes up. It will output them to a folder called 'out'.
Once you have all the new images, go back to CustomizeMii and use the Multi-replace feature for the banner and the icon (make sure you select the folder with the new images, not the old ones).
Now go to the options tab, and set the Title ID to whatever you want, and browse for a new DOL and choose the HBC forwarder you downloaded earlier.
And that's it, create the WAD and install it, you should be good to go.

I'd prefer to manually do it. Thanks for the information, you can take down the mediafire link though.

Team Twiizers put in anti-unpacking measures to defeat scammers. I believe it is fundamentally wrong to circumvent these measures they put in to protect users.
Just my two cents.

I honestly feel they have the right to do that.
They gave the public Wii exploits, it's fair enough to say that if the safety measures hadn't been put in that the channel's banner could be changed to something like: "Brakson's Wii Hax" (therefore the issue wouldn't know they'd been scammed)

Thats about as manual as you can get. The mediafire link was to a program I made to adjust the colors of images, because manually doing them 1 at a time is annoying and time-consuming. It had nothing specifically to do with the wii, and certainly doesn't violate any rules. That whole semi-tutorial doesn't really violate any rules. All it has are free, open source tools, and a forwarder that is like 20 lines of code (by giantpune I believe). The actual homebrew channel files you get for yourself, by dumping them with bluedump (or a similar tool)

I believe you, it's not that I'm saying you did something to violate the rules.
I just want to do it manually for experience, :P

If its a pain in the ass, that's okay too, I'm just trying to learn the hard way first, then I can get lazy.

What do you want to do manually? Change the channel color? That tutorial is doing it manually. What more do you want?

Congrats on the gamecube, I guess. What is a rev a? Is it different?

Oh crap. I posted that in the wrong thread. *facepalm*

That was meant to be in my GC thread.

Thanks for your help, my issue with this is solved.

Offtopic: REV-A GameCube motherboards can be cut down to the size of an iPhone, (mainly for my Portable GC project)
