How did it corrupt your memory stick?

And did you read my post earlier tonight here about extending the text width?

Damnit it....it hasn't just corrupted my fastest MS Pro Duo it's killed it.
It doesn't seem highly suspicious that a popular plugin could magically kill a memory card? What's wrong with it?

CWcheat isn't obsolete.
I used CMF myself (Not anymore, since I got my PSP Go I didn't feel the need to get it again) but I don't shove it down someones throat when I see someone using CWcheat.
I don't want to shove it down anybody's throad, but it's erroneous to claim cwcheat isn't obsolete. It hasn't been updated in forever, and CMF surpasses it in functionality. That's pretty much the definition of obsolete.

I can understand if xist doesn't use anything besides the text reader, but most users are looking to these for the cheat functions more than anything else. And CMF is the better cheat manager, and you get all the other stuff like screenshots, save states, macros, turbo, and remapping keys.

It's a popular plugin which is a Release Candidate, not a full release. It's corrupted and will not format giving an error in the PSP of 80010011 and the PC keeps telling me that it needs to scan and check it, which then promptly exits.

Cheatmaster fusion is now possibly the worst plugin i've ever used since it's actually cost me money to try.

You get screenshots and remaps in CWCheat....

Are you connecting it through your PSP each time or do you have a reader port on your PC, or some sort of external reader?

There's a list on QJ saying it's a "file exists" error: http://forums.qj.net/psp-general-help/4037...age-thread.html

I'm wondering what would happen if you tried to access the card's data or perform the format under a Linux boot cd.

It's been awhile since I used CWC. In fact I've got CMF set up on four memory cards running on a PSP 2000 and 3000.

Firstly i can't access the card so file exists is likely to be correct as it's a massive corrupt mess. However, having never used Linux before i have to say that whilst i'll probably try this (or get a friend to for me) i'm immensely displeased that a RC plugin has done this to a perfectly decent stick....and remember savestates play with your flash! Do Not Want.....

Oh and also irrespective of this....everyone should be using Linebreaker to format their text files correctly for a PSP text viewer.

Personally, I think it's a coincidence. Nobody else has experienced this problem around here, and I've got it set up on an 8GB Sandisk, a 4GB Lexar, a 1GB Sony black, and a 2GB Sony blue.

Do you have a blank CD and burner handy? Download Knoppix here: http://www.knoppix.net/

I'm sure you're familiar with burning an image to a disc. You're not looking to try anything fancy, it's the simple fact that Linux will handle the file table differently than Windows. The PSPdev guys are saying it's a file exists error which sounds like a file table error to me. The card isn't heating up to uncomfortable levels when plugged in, right?

So all you need to do is boot off the live CD and use the equivalent of Windows Explorer to try to access the memory card and with any luck that will work where Windows is failing. It's worked for me in countless instances in the past with hard drives.

Formatting a drive is a little trickier so you may want to defer to your friend.

Got my MS back (i sent it to him!). It seems to be working fine now but if there's a plugin that's reactive to a combination of the PSP Hardware i'm using (Japanese launch 1001) the various individual changes to flash which can vary from person to person and the wind direction it's not for me. Sure maybe that's a 1 in 1000 possibility that someone may mirror whatever i did but if that happened on a PSPGo's internal memory what's the outcome there?

CWCheat all the way...

If I felt like being an ass I'd go find one forum thread of cwcheat bricking a PSP, but I'm too lazy.

Go for it....CWCheat can't as it has no writing capability other than to RAM. CMF can though because of the integrated save state feature.

Writes to memory stick...sorry i skipped that because it's not PSP memory but external. You pedant you!

The save state feature doesn't write solely to the MS and it can brick a console. HA TAKE THAT! CHECK AND MATE! I AM TJE KING OF THE CASTLE! VICTORY DANCE AND HIGH FIVE'S ARE GO!

As long as I can cheat I don't care what I use. But what I can't live without is audioboost. It's hard to ignore someone if you can still hear them you know.

You sure it writes to the firmware? I see no reason to and have not heard of it.

Loading states rewrites a snapshot of how the PSP memory was configured when the savestate was made (it's on a massive scale relative to the way emulator savestates work). Therefore on restoration if you have changed anything to any degree it can brick the console....this has apparently been confirmed.

Plus i'm sure this is just a rejig of PSPStates and still only works on the 2000's and not 1000's.
