Two Nintendo Directs announced for next week, set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Zelda and showcase games launching this year for Switch 2

After much speculation, Nintendo have today announced not one, but two Nintendo Direct presentations. Both are set to air next week, with the first being 30 minutes long and dedicated to the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. This will be followed the next day by a 45 minutes long showcase of Switch 2 games launching towards the end of the year.

Both presentations will go live at 3pm here in the UK in their respective days, and be available to watch through the usual channels.

Am I the only one hoping they announce like an "A Link Between Worlds + 4 Swords Adventures" remaster as their 40th anniversary switch 1 release?? Wishful thinking, I know, but theres gotta be some switch 1 love for the 40th (more realistically WWHD or TPHD)

Of course right when I use some money to pickup the Analogue Duo we get a Direct date AND the Superstation One back in stock as well as a new Analogue Pocket update after so many months…..

*sigh*

You’re welcome I guess 😅

JP announcement had a note saying it would over cover Nintendo Switch 2 releases but, seemingly only for the general direct. So something Zelda Switch 1 will be announced.

I would like a 4 swords adventures rerelease. Such a fun game

PLEASE be better than the awful June direct. Hyped af for the Zelda direct tho. Not hyped for the movie I do wish that was animated

Realistically it's going to be 25 minutes of Ocarina of Time and not a whole lot else.
It would be a good time for a remake of the Oracle games, though.

I'd love to see Nintendo return to traditional Legend of Zelda, ever since they stopped doing so (outside remasters) since 2013's A Link Between Worlds. We haven't gotten a new 2D Zelda since then, or a new 3D Zelda (with no stupid gimmicks such as limited stamina or equipment fragility, so Skyward Sword doesn't count) since 2006's Twilight Princess.

You've experimented enough with alternative experiences, Nintendo; you've already released BotW/TotK and EoW - go back to what made, still makes, the franchise so fun and replayable!

Finally a Direct worth watching and hopefully we'll see something in regards to this:

I want that so bad.

I remember when TPHD was announced and being let down it wasn't a full on remake like the gameplay shown at 2011 lol. I was only 15 at the time. 10 years later and I finally got my wish! (:
