So my GTX 570 just died and I need a new GPU. Here are my PCs specs:

    - i5-2500K Quad Core @ 3,3 GHz
    - 12GB RAM

What GPU would you recommend for this setup? Or should I go with the GTX 1060 and upgrade the CPU too, but the costs...

Potential system instability/hardware damage if you mess it up. Just look up some guides and you should do fine, it's not particularly difficult

You don't really need a cpu upgrade for now as long as you get the good cpu oc, get that RX480 for more.

What are your requirements to begin with.

I just want an adequate graphics card for my CPU. Btw, I just overclocked it to 4GHz :D

The 1070 is still a lot more expensive than the 1060.

No I meant give us information on what resolution are you gonna game, what types of games are you looking forward to game at.
The RX480 destroys 1080p and with new DX12 titles and with Vulkan it can pretty much do 1440p as good as the GTX1060, if not better. Go for the RX480 Custom cards, you won't regret it.

It's powerful enough to get the job done easily, cheap enough so that you can save money to get a new cpu-motherboard overtime and get another RX480 at a lower price, by the time you upgrade your rig.

1080p with 60FPS is enough for me. I do not game much on PC, but that could change in the future ;)

Then an RX480 is the cheapest that will give you the performance you are looking for. If you want less power draw, the GTX 1060 consumes about 30% less power, has slightly better performance, but costs about $50 more (I don't know how that translates into the European market).

my recommendation is for a card thats a few years old but still works with the most modern games. a gtx 750ti sold by MSI. you can get a factory refurbished one for about $100. its a neat 2gb GDDR5 card if you're on a budget like I was at the time i got mine. also, whats your psu wattage?

Go RX 480 or GTX 1060. choose whatever you want of you prefer one manufacturer over the other. keep in mind that the gtx 1060 uses slightly less amounts of power, and has a slight increase in performance

It should say somewhere on the PSU itself. If you have a box laying around with the manuals for all the components and extra parts like spare SATA cables and such (I keep all that in the mobo box) you can check the manual for the PSU. I'm not aware of a way to check the PSU wattage in software.
I vote for the RX 480, seems to be a solid card, but you can't go wrong with the GTX 1060 either.

Just uh, be sure you have really good cooling and airflow when you go about it, things can go really bad really fast.
