Hi,

Im up to upgrade my hdd on my ps3 Slim. What do I need to do to keep everything? Should I just copy content from old hdd to new and insert new hdd?

Please keep in mind that I never used PS3 before, this is my first time, so please explain it like you're explaining it to retard

No.

You should copy all of your games from the old harddrive (if you have any) to your PC via FTP.
Then insert a usb drive and copy all the save games to that.
Insert the new HDD, reinstall Rebug + Multiman + Rebug toolbox and copy all your games + savegames back.

Then what you should do (and it being the simplest thing in the world) is to take out your old HDD of your PS3, insert the new one and boot the PS3.
Let it format the harddrive and download the latest Rebug REX FW from the rebug site.
Put that on a FAT32 formatted flash drive in a folder called "UPDATE" in a folder called "PS3"
Insert it in your PS3 and update it.
Then install Multiman and Rebug toolbox again.

Once that's done you've upgraded your HDD and you can copy your games to it again.

i.e. before everything. Let me explain situation. I have in my PS3 120GB HDD, and 240Gb SSD which isn't in console. Should I keep 120gb inside and install games just on SSD? Or still I should swap drives?

I wouldn't put an SSD in a PS3.
You literally gain nothing from it.
Maybe a second less in loading times but that's about it.

Just get a 1 or 2 TB 9mm thick harddrive and enjoy a sea of storage space.

Okay, then I wont change drives since there's no difference. I would like to avoid all the job about changing. Thanks

Having a 1 or 2 TB drive allows you to hold a multitude of games.
Not to mention that it's much easier then to constantly copy games from and to it.

But if you ever feel like upgrading in the future.
Any 9mm thick 2.5 inch drive fits perfectly.

Game rips have to be loaded with Multiman.
Games in pkg format can be installed onto the XMB.

If you need to pirate games, get them from the usual places.
Do not ask for links, it's prohibited.
