@ Ikki: Ah, missed your post RIGHT ON THE LAST PAGE. Fail. >_>

WTF Capcom. Seriously? I am NOT buying this game now; I don't have any interest in something that pull this shit. Imagine if I pulled out my SNES, and wanted to play Super Mario World, and there was only one file, and no way to erase it or start it over. WTF? SERIOUSLY? You want to ELIMINATE REPLAY VALUE FOR YOUR GAME?

DO NOT WANT.
The first time you boot up the game is the only time you'd be able to configure your save data. There is no reset option nor is there any new game option.

This sucks.

Anyone who STILL bought the game, and beat it... do you AT LEAST have the option of a New Game + or something? Chapter replay? If there isn't... Wow. I don't even know what to say.

I can't believe it. I seriously, just can't believe it. Who would even buy it knowing this? Imagine if all the games you could think of just ended after beating the final boss.

*Disgaea, beat the Seraph, what now? Oh. You stare at the title screen for an eternity.
*ANY Mario game: Beat Bowser/Smithy/Insert final guy here, and whaddya know? You get to fight him over, or STARE AT A TITLE SCREEN FOR ETERNITY. What? You wanna... EXPLORE? look around for extra goodies you may have missed, do another run though? You wanna buy another copy of the game?

*ANY arcade style game: CREDITSCREDITSCREDITS for all your life.

God... this really, really pisses me off. Maybe just because I am in a bad mood already but man.

The difference between that game and this is that this is mainly an arcade-type shooter where the main goal is to beat your previous score. It's not like there's zero replay value at all, as there is your high score board and you get to play online with friends. The thing that I would think is bad about this is that you can't just reset your highscore if you get bored with it and just want a clean start.

Everybody else, please read that before assuming anything.

I dont know why'd you want to start a new game for this game, because, even if you reset it, it's still the same thing.
Not like when you restart Mario to play through again. This one will probably have chapter select / stage select or something to let you replay that certain stage.
Don't wanna use the unlockables? then don't use them. It's that simple.
I'm sure there's going to be a way to reconfigure your skills and guns or something so you can set yourself to only handguns and no skills if you wanted to.

thats not the same
theres skills to level and stuff
its like team fortress giving you every item and hat at start up or every gun and skill on counter strike

Does everyone here like to buy their games used? I don't get why so many people are angry about this. I don't ever buy a game used anymore.

The neat thing about cartridge based media, is that you can get a used copy for half price that is exactly the same as a new copy. Unless you really want a new copy, a small wait can generally pay off.

Somewhat true, it just depends on the previous owner if he/she took care of it. (Case, booklet, cartridge, etc) Even still, I hardly ever buy my games at full MSRP anymore. Usually you can find deals on new games that you're looking for nowadays if you're willing to wait a week or two.

That's why I said there's probably a way to reconfigure those things if you wanted to...
Sure it may be unlocked and all, but you dont have to use them. The game isn't forcing you.

I honestly don't care at all about the lack of save resetting.
Good on Capcom for fighting used games sales.

This is a consumer rights issue. If you care about such things then you will understand why this is bad. Otherwise, I doubt very much that this will affect the actual enjoyment of the game in anyway.

Christ, you people think that used game sales are like the goddamn devil. Since when did this happen?

I buy almost all my games used nowadays, for the games I do buy. There's often quite a price gap between new and used like a month after release, and it's quite significant. Used games rarely aren't much different from a new game so what's the point of buying new?

If Capcom want to fight used game sales then they make a game people won't want to sell. Call of Duty and Halo have stayed on many people's shelves for the longest time because, to them, they're highly replayable. You can spend hundreds of hours on multiplayer. Why sell a game you keep playing? That's the issue with a lot of single player games. You play them once and find no need to do so again.

I was quite unimpressed by the game itself and if I were to buy a 3DS and this game, I probably wouldn't now that I can't get it used. Now I can just look forward to some sort of 3DS flashcart so I can just pirate my games.

it's already out in australia, they broke street date!

This is the stupidest thing thats happened for a while in gaming.

I buy almost all my games used, so if this trend keeps up, I guess gaming just isnt for me.

If there is a way to reconfigure your skills I'm fine with it. I never buy any game used, as first I'm pretty picky with the condition my games are in and second if I buy a game I want to support the developer. The only games I buy used are old (and I mean like at least GBx old) games that you can't get new any more. Most of the time you can get good deals on (fairly) new games anyway.

Are you seriously asking what's the difference between supporting the developer and supporting the store you buy the game from?

Us teenagers(from what I remember Guild's 16 or 17..) aren't exactly made of money. £40 on a game can be well spent on SO many other things at this age, it's hard to justify a brand new purchase.

'Supporting the developer' is something I'll be doing when I have that much money to spare thank you very much.

EDIT: In fact what am i saying? Forget teenagers, more like middle class folk really.

I buy brand new games RARELY, when it's something really big like for example FFXIII Collectors ed etc.

I didn't assume you (or anyone else) is made of money, not even that you can justify spending your hard earned money on a game. I was merely asking if he really didn't know the difference. None of this was meant as an insult. Also, just for the record, I never said that I buy all my games at full price either.

Lol sorry, my post might have come off a bit too loud there. Apologies

Anyhoo, no I just got the feeling from your post that you found the idea of buying used games ridiculous because it wasn't supporting the devs. My mistake
