Hmm very strange doesn't really boot into Hekate if I use the default config from Git.
Just getting the Hekate IPL screen.
Without any config or my old config without Nyx it runs smoothly, atleast the payload works.

Switch is on 8.0
SD fat32 samsung uhs1 128GB
TegraRCMGUI 2.5 for Windows 10

If anybody knows something let me know :)

Anyone got a sample of how the "payload" and "icon" path is defined within the "hekate_ipl.ini"?

Also, must there be a definite dimension for the pointed "icon" in order for it to be used?

Based on the lines of codes that will follow, is this the right way of defining it for ReiNX?

[ReiNX]
payload=bootloader/payloads
icon=bootloader/payloads

Can someone explain why Hekate cant see the partition on my microsd card. it says in minitool that windows can only see the first parition and i just cant get it to appear in hekate. lol why can I not figure this out..

would appreciate a few steps on how to create this partition on microsd card?

@CTCaer

Hi, I'm a bit confused with what the new emuMMC > emuMMC Manage > Create emuMMC > SD Partion option actually does to the microsd card.

"SD Partition is saved as a raw image in an available partition."

I am assuming that the user needs to manually create the hidden partition prior by means other than hekate, otherwise it fails to move onto the next step.

"Failed to find application partiton!"

Am I getting this right?

If this is the case, can you consider adding a partitioning manager to hekate in the near future? I'm not sure if you're familiar with @d0k3's Godmode9 3ds homebrew, but it's capable of exactly this.

https://github.com/d0k3/GodMode9

It has an option to format the SD card, create hidden partitions, and inject dumped nand images. It may sound dangerous, but perhaps a key button combination prompt should be added before allowing the task to proceed.

download a tool like minitool partition, then create 2 partitions both fat32, one SD partition, one emuMMC partion (this needs to be at least 29.3GB though). That's it, then boot up and you can create from switch

What do you mean by "how the path is defined"? It's just a path to yout payload or icon file.. Should be like this:
[ReiNX]
payload=bootloader/payloads/reinx.bin
icon=bootloader/payloads/reinx.bmp

...or whatever names of your files.

And as for the icon size i'm not sure myself...But you can just "copy" the properties of the existing icons in bootloader/res/... Just open them in PS and paste over your icon, resize it and save as bmp.

Ive tried this but minitool says the first parition will be the only one that will be recognised in windows. Also do you create the 2nd parition as primary or logical, format to FAT32 or not. some 1,2,3 steps would be most appreciated. ive spent an hour with this already :/

no problem mate. i just resolved the issue. The MBR on my microsd card had corrupted, so I did a low level format to delete the MBR record and partitions. Followed your steps and flashing emuMMC to SD partition now :) cheers

Made an SX icon for anyone who wants to use it.

Edit: I like uniformity. :)

I cant get the custom icons to show in the launch menu, it keeps using the default ones.

Here is my hekate_ipl.ini inside the bootloader folder.

Code:
[config]
autoboot=0
autoboot_list=0
bootwait=3
verification=1
backlight=100
autohosoff=0
autonogc=1

[Atmosphere]
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
kip1patch=nosigchk
atmosphere=1
logopath=bootloader/res/atmosphere.bmp
icon=bootloader/res/atmosphere.bmp

[Stock]
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
stock=1
icon=bootloader/res/atmosphere.bmp

[Atmosphere-emuMMC]
payload=bootloader/payloads/fusee-primary.bin
icon=bootloader/res/atmosphere-emc.bmp

all assets and files are inside the correct folder. So why wont hekate find them?

Also what is the difference between Icon and logo path?

    I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

    I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

    Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

    @SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint

    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
