so you cannot import talkies right now at all? what are the odds of it being fixed in 3.0?
Talkies are part of the chart and can be imported just fine. However, RawkSD currently can't replicate the pan and weight files needed to score talkies correctly, meaning that talkies in songs imported or created with RawkSD are sort of "broken" - talkie phrases will fail to register or won't earn Awesome ratings even if hit completely. This means that talkie-heavy songs are very difficult to pass on vocals without enabling No-Fail. Passing mastered custom songs through Magma allows you to compile the weight bin which can improve talkies but not fix them completely. Currently I believe the plan is for talkies to be auto-played, unless they figure out a better method.

Pitched vocals will still work fine.

will customs charted for the GH Series on drums (aka GH5 from fof.net, since i have a 360 version) support automatic Orange - > Blue Pad conversion?

so making songs with some talking and running it through magma will not be a waste of time? or is it a random result no matter how much talking?

sorry but i have alot of vocals i want to make and want to make sure i understand the situation completely before i go through with it all.

thank you.

I don't know the full details, but adding the weights bin did fix about half of my talkies - the ones that registered but didn't earn Awesome were weighted such that Awesomes are possible. The other talkies don't register at all.

As an added bonus, if you have the means to make the RBA to extract the weights, you can also get the milo for accurate lip syncing.

Quick guide:
1. Chart all of the vocals per the RBN Creator Docs (talkies can be set to any pitch, then add a # after the word in each lyric text event)
2. Obtain or record a "dry vox" audio - match the actual lead singing part as closely as possible in terms of sound, pitch, and volume - and save it in 16kHz mono.
3. Run your chart, song, and dry vox file through Magma, squashing any errors that come up. You'll get an RBA.
4. Grab MahoppianGoon's RBA Extractor on ScoreHero and open the RBA. Use the extract buttons for Bin.
4A. If you need the milo, grab Aaron/AerialX's milo converter (probably linked on ScoreHero).
5. Rename the bin to 'weights' and the milo to 'milo' with no file extensions and put them in the RawkSD custom folder on your PC.

and while my son eventually hung himself in the bathroom at the gas station, the unfortunate reality of RawkSD is that it will be around....forever. it will never go away. it can never be undone.

did any of the DEVS get their HANDS on green day ROCK BAND yet and if so what's the importing situation looking like right now

If you're someone who is under the age of like 20, who says his least favorite version of RawkSD was 1.0 because it was.. the least featurest one.. then I suggest you shut your browser off right now before I carefully explain how much of a fucking idiot you are.

as I anxiously await the arrival of the new RawkSD and just finished playing some of the new Green Day Rock Band I came up with a theory.Couldn't we, in theory, create a patch that uncensores (as in overwrites the bleeped out parts with the actual words) any songs that were initially censored. From that patch we would apply it to the game and then with this patched game, import that patched game into RB2 via the new RawkSD. I mean as far as I am to understand patches are ok (as in legal) and besides I think it may be less work and less legal worries than ripping the songs and replacing the audio by hand or something.

may be a bad idea, I don't know, but I am just thinking here.

Right now the word on GD importing, at least from tueidj, is a no (though I'm not even sure if the internals have been looked at yet).

As for "patching" the songs... it would be rather pointless without the master tracks, no? Then we would have to alter the MIDIs, and then the problem would be getting past the hashes in-game so we could put them in GDRB.

So it's a no-go either way, I'm afraid.

it seems like there'd be some way to fix the weights on imports automagically using the vocal track.

I have the latest version of rawksd. I have HD with FAT32 and WBFS partitions both are primary. I insert a band hero DVD or GH5 DVD and when I click on dump files I get cannot find a Device. I tried doing this with the SD card connected to the wii and it would save it directly to the SD card which I do not want.

It was not able to find the FAT32 section of my HD. How can I fix this
