Raspberry Pi Zero help needed (Bluetooth and screen)

Let me preface this by saying that I'm not sure if this is in the right place, so if it's not I apologize.

Basically I'm trying to make a portable retropie device which uses BT to connect both a small speaker and controllers. Unfortunately however, I've run into a couple of snags.
Firstly, my BT module, which should be connected through the GPIO, does not appear to be working. I've used this guide and the latest Jessie distro(? not sure what the proper terminology is here), but nothing happens.
The second problem is my LCD screen, I have one of these, and, while it certainly works with the provided drivers, whenever I try to enter emulationstation (or kodi) it will return to HDMI for the duration of the program. Essentially voiding any use I may have for the LCD display.

So my main two questions are: is there any way to get my BT module to work properly, and is it possible to get the above mentioned programs to display on the screen (preferably mirroring it on both the screen and the HDMI display)?

Not sure about the BT module, but for the LCD screen you'll have to essentially mirror the HDMI frame buffer to the GPIO. This is because the GPIO isn't directly connected with the video hardware, and so doesn't have a fast enough framebuffer to support OpenGL software (like Kodi or EmulationStation).

Unfortunately, last I remember, the way to mirror the framebuffer from HDMI to the GPIO isn't exactly the smoothest thing in the world. IIRC the program to do this was called fbcp or something similar, but it's been ages since I've looked into GPIO LCD screens (specifically because of this issue).

I see, well that's something I can look into at least. And while it probably won't be ideal, I'm more or less hoping that it'll be good enough for small periods of time (ie moving from room to room while continuing the game/movie or similar situations). (There was also the fact that it was a cheap screen (less than a tenner) which didn't need any external power)
