Misc Raspberry Pi Help

So I got all the pieces it said to (The Raspi, Ethernet, the SD Card, the WiFi USB adapter, etc.) and followed the directions on http://www.spillmonkey.com/?page_id=5 But I apparently missed something, it's not working for me. I'm not super familiar with Raspberry Pi, so if the issue is in how I'm using it, someone should translate into small words. Any help / input is appreciated.

EDIT: I plugged it in and it said 'N180211 driver initialization failed', Not sure if the WiFi USB thing is incompatible, or if I just set it up wrong.

Also, I'm using a B+ Raspberry Pi model, his guide says basically 'it'll still work, but you need to do a little bit more tinkering'. What tinkering needs to happen for that?
