Hacking R4iSDHC Dualcore doesn't work on 11.4.0-37u?

Newbie here, please be kind. I recently purchased a flashcart, which is R4iSDHC DualCore 2017 to play NDS games. I downloaded the kernel (R4i-V3.9b English) from the site it said on the box (www.r4isdhc.com) and it said that it only supported until firmware 11.3.0. True enough, when I startup the slot-1 on my home menu, all I get is a black screen (My emuNAND is already on the latest version, so I can access eShop).

However, I also read somewhere that flashcarts which support firmwares >7 will continue to work on 11.4. I followed the link to that, and was surprised to see the kernel of an even lower version that the one I already had, and was last updated in 2015.

If I remove the microsd card (so I boot up sysNAND, which is of a lower firmware, ~9), the flashcart works. I guess what I'm asking is, apart from removing the microsd card whenever I want to play NDS games, what can I do? Is there some version of the kernel somewhere that will enable it to work even on the latest firmware?

I wonder if using YSmenu as primary kernel will let you use it on 11.4 firmware... my R4i Gold Pro works on 11.4 but it was also working with stock firmware :/ still wouldn't hurt to try tho right?

1- Download this: https://ufile.io/2fx4q
2- Backup contents of your SD
3- Format it using Panasonic SD Formater
4- Extract and place the contents of "R4i-SDHC YSMenu.zip" on the root of the SD
5- Try it out??

I think that's normal with emuNAND. The best is to use A9LH sysNAND to avoid these kind of issues.

I formatted my microsd card and put the content of that file into my sd card, without putting the kernel I downloaded from the official site. It didn't work, I still ended up with the black screens :/

I tried this, and I get the same result. I change the directory from 3ds microsd card to R4, and when I click 'add games', I get the same black screens.

Is there another way to switch bootup from emuNAND to sysNAND? I currently hold L to boot up sysNAND, but when I go back to emuNAND everything is gift-wrapped and the order of my icons is messed up. Also, sometimes when I boot up my 3DS it hangs.

ah that's menuhax emunand boot, if you had luma you could switch it but i dunno how with that method, the gift warapped thing is normal since your sysnand and your emunand are unlinked it will keep happening, in my opinion you should install arm9lh on the sysnand and not use emunand at all (you still have your emunand as main sys if you use a nand bak of your emunand during arm9lh install)

I wasn't the one who installed the CFW on my 3ds so I'm a bit iffy on changing things, since I don't know exactly what was done with it... Updating Luma3ds to the latest version solved my problem. Thank you all for your replies!
