Hacking R4i on DSi help

how can i tell its fake?
i have got 3 more here still sealed in packs.

also my original micro sd in my old R4 is only a 2gb so it wont work will it?

yeah it should work even thought the box says 4gb but a 2gb should work fine, you can test the speed of the card using a sd card speed tester, just search on google, you should be getting at least 18/20Mbps a second transfer speed, if your getting about 5Mbps the chances are its faulty/fake. There is various guides on the internet to check for fake memory cards

the 2gb card will work in the newer R4i. I think it's really nice that you bought your child a flashcart and a DSi. Now I think you should go ahead and invest in an Acekard 2i. I have 2 of them. I also have a supercard dstwo, M3, and a R4 and several R4i golds on the way here in the mail. And my favorite cart is the Acekard w/ akaio firmware.

when u load it just select english as it loads up in Dutch. plug the mem card into pc, and press select Target, it does the rest for you, you will need to delete the test file from the memory card when finished.

Gimme a shout if u need any help using it.

Try this:
Erase everything except the games.
Create a folder named Games, and put all games there.
Download this:Link
Copy everything inside the R4I-SDHC folder to the root of your micro sd.

Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 5.91 MByte/s
Reading speed: 11.0 MByte/s

mate my 2gb was from the same place so it is highly likely that would be fake then if this is the case

That may not be the case, the retailer may not realise that the new batch of cards is fake, is your 2gb slow on games e.g stuttering intros slow to save games? or the card may just be faulty, where abouts in the UK are you located ?

just get 2 white screens with what looks like a red memory card and ? menu in it

really? could it just be a fault with the mario game?
im just used to it being really fast on the old r4 on the ds lite.

try the new memory card in your old r4 and you will see that its still slow, the memory is faulty/fake, I've had this quite a few times.

Put your old R4menu back on.
Only copy these files from the link I gave you: TTMENU.DAT,TTMENU.NDS,TTMENU.SYS
and TTMENU FOLDER to root of your micro sd.

Then go inside the R4iMenu folder and open the multimedia_path.ini file delete whatever
text you see and type in TTMENU.NDS then save the file and overwrite it.

The power on the ds and select the multimedia icon.

Yes it will work. Your card is for 1.4.1, so the 1.4.1 update will not block it.

are your Kingston memcards (taiwan or Japanese) it should say where they are assembled on the packet, I have been reading and the ones assembled in Taiwan are far inferior than the Japanese ones, you need a memory card with a faster read time than 8mpbs

Some people having problems some not, so if you bought from an independent reseller they could be fakes. Was it from a reputable company? ie Jessops? or did you get the memory cards from the same place as your R4i? Id take them back and tell him they are slow.
