Hacking R4i not working

Ive sold a Red box r4i-SDHC (1.4) to a customer with a DSi


They say that, with the firmware from the website printed on the box, they are only able to get to the red "MENU?" screen. They have firmware 1.3U

It is possible that it is a faulty card but also possible they have the wrong firmware on the card or on their DS. Would upgrading their DSi firmware work with this card or will they have to find an older version of the R4i software.

If they upgrade their DSi, then they will be at 1.4.1 and their cart won't work at all. Are you sure they are installing the firmware on the microSD?

they are not installing it properly. They may be putting it all in a folder on the card (It may come this way in the zip/rar)

also, they may be googling it instead of typing the site into the address bar, and going to a diff R4i site with diff firmware.
