Hacking R4i Gold Plus

Hi all, I bought an r4i Gold Plus, but r4ids.com is down. Im trying to get the thing set up. I have v1.5 on it that I got from http://www.xpertron.co.uk/faqs/r4i-gold-plus-installation-guide-f-156.html#driver

Now, I put Professor Layton and the last specter on it and its getting an error (Load rom errcode=-4).

So, my noobie question is, can I simply load Wood on this card? Its labelled as supporting 3ds on the cart but it will only be used on a DS lite.

Hmm, on looking again. Im not sure, the wood FW looks like its for r4ids.cn cards. So perhaps I have to stick with AKAIO?

On a side note, is there any reason why r4ids.com is down? other than server problems.

wait what firmware are you using now R4's don't work with AKAIO

Other than Professor Layton and the last specter not working Im assuming its an antiquated revision. Id be happy if I could get to the r4ids.com site and grab the official firmware - atleast I'd know I was onto the right thing.

As for the grammar, its not perfect but I pride myself on trying to keep it correct. I often complain to my 9 y/o when I see her typing: u ave to c this. Drive's me nuts, bless her. She'll thank me for it one day! haha

LOL also have you tried running Wood on the card? myself I don't have the card but just trying to help

I appreciate the help! Though Im a touch concerned about flashing wood onto it incase it bricks the card!

I have tried firmware's that don't work on my R4 DS and they just did not work I would say at worst it will corrupt your SD Card so just back it up

Wood does not work on this cart.
