Hacking R4i Gold | Need Help

I've had this R4i Gold for a while, I really want it to be working, but I think it's pretty fake, I've heard that you can notice it being fake if you hear it clicking if you kinda press it on the side.

I really want it to be working, it's a version 2.0 R4i gold, and my DSi is a version 1.4.5E

I dont really know, can you guys help me? Is it fake? Would it work? And how do I make it work?
