Hacking R4 technical question

just wondering, how exactly is it that the original R4 can skip the nds's OS and boot its own? i know that other carts like the Acekard 2i show up as a game rather then skip it entirely.

Ad dar ad I know no r4's (not even the originale one) are able to skip the NDS boot, if it seems it does, rhen it is because you might nave selected to skip NDS boot menu on NDS settings.

it goes through the boot cycle as far as the seizure warning but it skips to Wood directly. and i have it set to manual and it still skips. when i use the back to firmware homebrew the NDS doesn't even recognize the card. i am using a ds phat silver version

R4 sets the Autostart flag in the nds header which lets it bypass those menues (see gbatek http://problemkaputt.de/gbatek.htm#dscartridgeheader for more information)

I don't know how they do it but it actually happens... I saw some older R4 shows an R4 game icon but all the one slike this I saw working just jumped the system menu and boot it after skyping he securyty screen
