Hacking R4 Problems - Please Help!

Hey everyone!

Hows it going?

Having afew problems with DS R4.

I got a Japanese one from a friend today as a gift.

I managed to get afew games like Pokemon & Animal Crossing to work fine.

But when I download Final Fantasy Revenant Wings and put it on it doesn't work >.<

It just says theres a Data Error.
I have downloaded the game from different ppl & servers and still no difference.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hmmm think Im messing this up.

I downloaded both and extrated them to a folder on desktop
then run the patch folder & then moved the firware to my Microsd card and still didnt work >.<
just got a chinese msg with !!! on screen of DS

What am I doing wrong?
Sorry really thick with this stuff.

    Most likely its overheating, prob needs new thermal paste on cpu/ gpu. That stuff after years dries up become crusty n no longer works to transfer the heat.

    Doesn't sound like it if it worked fine before, other things to check is visually check USB and hdmi (if it has) ports for damage.

    Other possibility is a bad power supply block. I'd start with replacing thermal paste, cause if you never have, it definitely needs new paste.

    @salazarcosplay When it shuts off on its own, does the power supply light show red or orange light? If its red, most likely bad power supply. Orange is normal off, green when powered on, red is a fault.

    Even after turning on, then wait for it to power off on its own, then what color? If orange then normal. I'd start with repaste. Most likely just overheating.
