Hacking R4 not reading a .sav file

so ive been playing chrono trigger for the past couple of weeks and everything has worked out great. but just last night i booted it up and i could only start a new game. So i checked to see if maybe my .sav files got deleted or something but they were all still there. Oh and even more puzzling is how all my other games are loading just fine. any help or suggestions would be great thanks

Rename the save to match the name of the rom, and for the ending use either .sav or .SAV (lower/uppercase).
