I'm new to DS emulation so what did all of that mean? Is there something that people are trying to bypass?

Appearantly you can modify the file so the R4 can use either the english or the chinese version..

Wow rudolph is back at it again huh.

It means that people can start to hack the kernel to do various things (new languages is a good bet).

I hope they go far with these [IMG]
R4DS has nice frequent firmware updates, but they just don't satisfy my urge to customize [IMG] hehe [IMG]

Maybe now it's possible to switch the menus so you can manipulate files with the stylus, instead of using the dpad/buttons

Anyone try that modified menu dat file yet?

I tried the one from Yasu and when powering on the top screen is white, bottom screen black and reads:

Yasu software - R4 Kernel TEST
    Hello, world!

Nothing else you can do though. Tested on 1st batch English R4 DS.
