R4 right now only works with 1 GB and 2 GB. That's why R4 is getting more competitors, as DSTT can support SDHC now.

Well, point is made, now if he still wants to get R4, let him.....If he can read, it's enough to check reviews (yes, some are outdated, but still, he'll get a good insight for few most suggested)..
epicelite, check DSTT, AceKard2, CycloDS, M3 Real & SuperCard (you don't have to go by that order)..all those carts ARE BETTER than R4..

no it won't. u seem to be under the impression that we give a shit about what u buy. countless ppl have given their correct and wise opinion about why the r4 is inferior to many karts out there (i have a r4 too btw), yet u blatantly ignore it. now, ur like, fine fine i'll get something else, like you're doing us a favor? god.

Lol its funny reading through all these posts and seeing the word " fanboy " appearing so much

Anyway as everyone else has said the R4 was a good card in its day, solid build quality / used to get regular updates! & had 100% games compatibility!

No more though.......

I personally use a supercard v3 SCHC (£17 DX) and a supercard lite (slot 2 -gba support) and these 2 cards work great together , i actually sold my R4 a month or so ago for £40 with 2 gig SD card so got the Sc + 8 gig card and had change.

Lets draw a line over the R4 ---------------------------- Good in its day, top of the line but its time has passed. Spend $40 and get a supercard or cyclone which have the most features.
